Hey im looking at getting either a navy raven or a rattlesnake but i can decide which one. It will be used for lvl 4 missions and runnings complexs. Uber skills with missles and shields tanking, just wondering does one or the other have a slight edge? I like the extra launcher slot on the NR but i also like the extra low slot and shields on the Rattlesnake. Any help would be wonderfull.

I have faced this dilema as well,
I believe someone did some quite extensive calculations compairing these two ships damage abilities, currently i cannot find the exact thread but i believe the rattlesnake did more damage and is a much stronger tank, hence the extra 500Mil on its pricetag compaired with the CNR.
If i had the cash i would get a Rattle without hesitation,(well enough hesitation as spending 1.7Billion deserves)
Good luck, i believe you will get much enjoyment from either ship.
Warning, sig starts here,
Mwaha Mwahaha Mwhahahahaha. e'hem and now, for something completely off topic |

It really depends on what you prefer. But if you got good shield skills, you might like the extra damage output on the CNR.

You guys all have way to much isk. If you have any spare, well, just hit the send money to tiller button, you know it makes sense.

What he said is about right, rattlesnake is very nice for mission running, but for pvp you're better of with the CNR,it's cheaper, has got a pretty decent tank too and you got the advantage of having 7x cruise launchers Ö Sig By Brother Benthor |

Instead of spending all that money on a faction ship your better off getting a Crystal Implant set if all you want is to run complexes/missions easier. The benefit will be a lot greater than an extra slot and hardpoint

QFT Full crystal set + Gist-X = Boost forever for crap all cap...
Then again, you have to wonder.. Crystal + Gist X + CNR.... hmmmz? O.o
Gagh damnit... hostile fleet of 15 and noone in system but me..*sigh* OK, time to break out the CNR then |

1.1b (CNR) or 1.5b (Rattlesnake). Use the 400m to buy a Gist b-type XL on the CNR and you'll be in heaven (i suppose (or the *****es with Gist x-type for twice the Gist b-type Price))
If isk isn't a problem and you want to go all out... Get a rattlesnake + gist XL

I did go for the NR.. And I'm loving it..
7 cruise II, 1 heavy dim nos
xl c-type booster, amp, 1 em II, 1 kin II, 1 therm II, 1 multi II
3 cap rechargers, 1 int damage control, 1 ballistic II
I know the rechargers do - to shield boosting, But a did some calculating. I used 3 pdu II in low and cap recharger II in med in the past..
But I actuelly boost 10 hp more pr sek now, and I can run it forever
140 hp sek, and 70% resist in em for the lowest resist.
And I run all lvl 4 missions.
The 7th launcher is really helping it, So I will say go for Navy

Um.
If you don't do ganking, i.e. put like 4 bcu's, rattlesnake is the way to go.
The 7th launcher is overcompensated by the fact that you can put a bcu in that extra low slot. That also leaves you an empty highslot slot for another nos or whatever.
However what the above peeps have said is true... investing the extra isk on crystal implants and a spiffy shieldbooster might also be the way to go. |

If you've got a properly fat wallet and are prepared to spend 6bil+ you can fit a CNR to both gank and tank like you wouldn't believe.

Estamel launchers and BCUs with officer cap chargers and a slew of other ungodly buff mods?

You have no idea how hax this setup is. I've flown it... (sub 6s rof on sieges anyone?)
anyway, CNR is better in every way than rattle. I've had both. -----------------------------------

One of my Characters has a CNR and has never owned a Ratelsnake. I run 7 cruise IIs (<3 Precisions/fury too much to use dread) and dark blood nos, Pith hardeners/amp and gist Xlarge booster, 3x dread BCUs and two pdu IIs....
With that setup there i hav nice rof on the cruise launchers and an increadable tank, i fail to see how an extra 1k shield and low slot that the Rattlesnake has makes up for the extra launcher and sexeh paintjob the CNR has
The only reason im gunna buy a Rattlesnake too is that its pure tanking potental is higher, but thats all it has over the CNR in sure tho i havnt checked dornes space yet

If u r planning to use estamels launchers and other officers modules...i would reccomend u rattlesnake...because all those modules use a loooot of cpu...and Rattlesnake has +1 low slot...so it will be easier to fit...
