I am going to buy a Laptop soon and I am wondering if the X300 would play eve.
Now this laptop will not be a dedicated game playing machine, only to be used if I cant get on my main PC.
I have read that the GMA900 (intel extream) dont work on EVE but does the X300. Specs

I have a laptop with the X300 in it (thinkpad T43), and while its not fast or giving me unbelievable FPS, it works. Only thing I would be reluctant to use it for is any type of combat, but I haven't tried it. Mining, shopping, or just the occasional log-on to change skills, no problems.

Thanks for lettin me know, also I have heard of the 200M, which I thought was a X300.
So would a 200M run eve> Specs

I play EVE just fine on a Mobility radeon 7500 with 32mb of ram. It plays fine, even pirate with it. EVE doesnt require much in the way of vid power.

I've played EVE on both GMA900 and X300 on IBM Thinkpads. It's horrible on the GMA900 and about 5-6 times faster with the X300. After switching you get that "Wow, cool" the first time you try it on a X300 heh...
It's "OK" with the X300 and you can do pretty much most things except large fleet battles. So I'd recommend getting a notebook with a X600 or even a X1600 if you can pay some extra cash.

The X300 will run it, but very low framrate depending on the GFX memory.... If you can stump up the extra for an X600 or X700 mobility laptop, you'll be laughing, I have a mobility X600 128mb and it works like a dream on eve, Doom3, battlefield2, latest quake,Half Life2 etc

This is a bit off, but I have ATI mobility Radeon x600 with 128MB of memory on my laptop and EVE runs really smoothly.

i also have the x300 pcie 64mb. I run in 1280x800 and i have no complaints. Although I suppose it's worth mentioning that my standards may be skewed due to the fact that I still remember playing the original Doom (14.4 multiplayer anyone?) before the days of things like directX and hardware acceleration. How lame were vesa drivers?
But all in all I'm pretty happy, and i'm sure my upgrade to 2gigs of ram pretty soon will help as well. Heck after I bought a new mouse and keyboard for this machine, I don't even use my desktop anymore!
