Hi, I'd like to know, would Electronic Warfare be useful at all for a non-PVP Miner? I just defend against NPC Pirates usually, is EW only useful for PVP
Thanks!

It depends. If you want to use EW against NPC, then you should know that the sensor strenght of the NPC is equal on all sensor systems, which is contrary to regular players. This means you will need 4 ECM Multispectrals to be able to target jam any NPC ship. You can not use the specialized jammers (-6/-2/-2/-2).

Thank you.
Do NPC Pirates use EW at all? (jamming, scrambling, etc) and if so... what Skills do I need to counter it?
I'm not thinking of using EW against them, just using it to prevent them messing me up

they do warp jam and stasis you. and you can do the same to them if you want. warp core stabilizers should work just the same on NPC's, for everything else you need to top their sensors which are like the one before me mentioned.

Yes, cruiser-level NPC use warp scramblers (strength 2) and stasis. You need atleast 2 warp core stabs to counter the scrambling, but it's not worth it IMHO. Use range to your advantage instead and do not put yourself in a situation where you are so close to them that they might damage you seriously.

Well...That answers that question! I was going nuts trying to figure out what systems I needed to jam the NPCs since they don't seem to follow the info guide...
Thanks!
