Why do you play EVE? I find myself playing this game every spare minute. when I'm not at work I'm in my pod! Tell me, am I alone or are there other people who can't tear themselves away from this (wonderful) game. "On the other side of the screen, it all seems so easy." - K. Flynn. TRON. |

I've actually found myself not as worried about playing. Probably due to my lack of time to play, but I'm still addicted (hell, I forumwhoring at work).
It's the freedom and scifi that gets me.

Actually, we're all addicted because CCP uses subliminal messaging in the gameplay to make us want to play.
I've gathered several such examples and am currently working with my legal advisors Vice&Roy to prepare a case we will bring to court to sue for reparations due to damages done to my sanity and intestinary tract.
I'll give you a hint: look closely at what's going on inside some gallente stations.
You'll see. There's more to this than meets the eye I tell you.

It's the insane range to gameplay that gets me hooked. Anything from wars and battles to courier missions and mining. Even the problems that come with this, your corp losing a pile of BS's and having to sort it out, being stranded in a system with rats camping the gate and having to outwit them, traveling to the other side of the galaxy to trade, seeing amazing and unique things on the way. How about being backstabbed by your friend for a sum of isk. Doesn't sound appealing but it adds to the drama of it. It's the mix of great action and adventure with trivial problems such as ship insurance and trading.
In a nutshell, EVE does its absolute best to emerse you completely...and you can't escape:D img312.imageshack.us/img312/9619/evesigfnl4pe.png[/IMG]

Aren't you one of those nefarious [23] ?
I rest my case.
I tell you, there's something fishy going on here. Look at the damn station interiors already and see for yourself !

Why is EVE so addictive?
Easy. Its everything other current-day MMOs are not. I like EVE because it has a very open ended feel about it and few rules and regulations to limit your playstyle.
Its also very ruthless and not for your average EQ-clone MMO gamer.

Why is it so addictive ? I've played many games that were addictive to me, but usually not for such a long time. So what's special ? In EVE every day is a new day, because it's a social game. I have no idea what tomorrow will bring. It depends a lot on other players e.g. my corp members, our friends, our enemies. So the game isn't repetitive. It's a player driven universe. At the moment I'm just to sleepy to play any longer, but I'm already looking forward to my EVE session tomorrow. ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |

I play EvE because in EvE, unlike real-life, i can kill people i dont like or those that **** me off.
That is great fun. ________________________________________________

I play eve to feel like I'm doing something constructive. I play a lot of games...a lot of them...and EVE is one where I actually feel like I'm doing something constructive. It has become my hobby in a sense. Some people put together models, others exercise (lame)...I play EVE and run a corporation.
Not to mention messing with people is fun...

alot to do with the people you play the game with, if you can have fun and a good laugh with your corp mates then that adds to the addiction, but although i do log on most days i would not consider myself addicted, but i do look forward to playing the game thats for sure ---------------------------------------------

CCP has been using Vitoc to keep me playing (and paying) for over a year. -------- Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk [04:21:15] Mebrithiel Ju'wien > Nik's bio 4tw btw [07:38:53] Graelyn > Nikolai for Dev 108!

GL with basic...always keep in mind that its all a mind game and the drill sergeants/instructors are actualy cool people when they arent wearing the round brown.
You will find you wont think of eve as much though you will be more concerned with when do I get to sleep, when is it time to eat, when can I take a crap, and when will my muscles stop aching.
But if you do think of Eve I dare you to ask if you can go to the permanant duty rec room to log on and change your skills he he he
Btw where you going to basic at
