So i went out last night to test my Vexor in my first pvp experience.
I got to a 0.1 system, find a cruiser and a frig(thought it was an AF at first) fighting some belt cruiser rats. The frig died very quick, the cruiser held out for a bit, tried to ransom him but no luck. Now they accuse me of being cowardly (probably justified) and threatens me to compensate them for their ships (which had no insurance) and their t2 gears. They also made wardec threats, which was ignored.
Now, was my action faux pas? or is every situation in low sec fair game? Interested to hear your views.

It just means your a pirate
Well done.
Only bad thing to do if your a pirate is break ransom, but even thats up to the individual. In eve tho respect is everything.

Everything in low sec is fair game. You took out a cruiser and a frigate with just a cruiser, how is that cowardly? Threats and smacktalk are to be expected if you pirate people, though they rarely back them up and if they do; hooray more targets!

and in answer to your question EVERYTHING is fair game in low sec and as for them calling you a coward you took on 2 people in low and of which you thought one was a assult frigate imho your well on your way to becoming a top pvp'er

Hehe, I can see their point what with them being attacked by cruiser rats at the time but i just think it as evening the odds by taking advantage of the situation. Guess they should have paid more attentions to the overview.

gj mate the Vexor is a kickass ship.
You did nothing wrong they knew the risks when they entered lowsec and if they didnt, well...now they do.

Guess they expected you to sit back, let them get armor/shield back and reload, get some buddies then you could have a go at them...

If you get get smacktalk from your victim you get a bonus 10 points. For every 100 points you get a free tissue to give to your next smacktalking victim :)

 , I can relate. In the heat of battle we have also forgotten some minor issues so far, like:
- Aggression timer;
- Ransoming instead of killing;
- Actually turning your guns off when ransoming (that was one was embarassing, especially as I was asking the gang to hold fire );
- Forgetting to loot the can afterwards.
It's amazing how fast you get a routine in this stuff though.

While on the subject of ransom... If you stick up a ship that is engaged with other targets (NPCS) and make it pay for its safety or face death at the hands of your HUD, what is to stop them paying and then blowing YOU (or me, preferably you though) up?

Not much I suspect, all part of the game. What is a HUD?

that is what I suspected, but thought it might be have been some EVE acronyms I am not familiar with.
Actually, I have a question about killright, posted this is in Eve New Citizens but not getting much reply. Since the guys I killed has vowed revenge (looking forward to that). How does his killright on me affects my(or his) corp/gang mates?
As far i know, he is allowed to fire on me first and I can defend myself after that. But what about his corp/gang mates and my corp/gang mates? what are they allowed and not allowed to do? Just so no one make any stupid mistakes.

TO the OP - So long as you didnt ransom them then blow them up anyway, its fair game. Screw them, if their flying what they cant afford to lose, its their fault

Good going dude, ignore the threats that ppl make, its not your fault that they didn't pay attention, i've had a similar situation where i attacked a BC in a cruiser,he was fighting npc's when i warped in, him with the bigger ship had the odds in his favour, so after i killed him, he proceeded to call me a coward as he was already fighting the npcs.
i want the loot/iskies by however i can get it with as little risk to me as possible.and its up to him to watch his surroundings.
anyone is fair game in low sec, thats why they put a warning up on the gates when you enter it. if someone is being a ****head about it, remind them that its just make believe pixels on a screen that they are threatening hellfire and eternal damnation over, then podkill them.

If you attack and kill people that dont want to be attacked, you're usually gonna get smacktalk back from them. I admit I got angry when a player took my friend down and i was too far away to help and started smacking on local - I wont be doing that again, it's just a game after all.
Just give them a mighty SHIVER ME TIMBERS!! YARR!! And fly off into the darkness manicly laughing because killing is fun.

Just give them a little poem to remember the rules, like...
In naught-point-five you'll stay alive,
In naugh-point-four you'll be dropped to the floor,
In zero-zero you'll feel like a hero
and in one-point-naught lots of stuff can be got !
Ok, so I'm bored waiting for a meeting to end before I can go home, but hey-ho....
