Would CCP like to submit an entry for EVE? I would do it but it would probably be better coming from an employee.
The current Guinness book of World records has two pages on computer games.
Their is no entry for highest concurrent users of an online game. Next nearest thing is....
The most action gamers playing on a single server - 1,073 playing counterstrike on a Unisys ES7000.
At 25,000 plus i think EVE could have that.

Think we were going to get it submitted way back but it takes up to a year to get recognized, in a year we might have 50K on at the same time and 25K in guinness would then be considered a bad ad

oh sure and do it fast because if you really gonna shard eve (sell it to any interested party) this won't last for long.

umm, theres a big difference between selling it like a franchise to whoever is interested, and allowing another "shard" due to international laws...
or because a country might have (if localized) a market as large or larger than the existing one.
especially if they would be limited to people IN those countries.

Any publicity is good publicity right?
I agree though, the pace of the IT sector and EvE's expansion will definately go up over the next year, it seems silly that it takes that long to get registered on the Guiness book of records!

Hmmmm, 1k users on a Unisys ES7000 ?? What a waste. Anyway, the ES7000 is a single server and not a conglomerate of servers in a clustered system like EVE is, so comparing it is like comparing apples and peaches. On another topic ... CCP should use some High End ES7000 for their DB¦s, might get me chance to visit them if they would do it ;)

Why not? Thank all those people who have no life. They do all sorts of stupid wierd stunts just to get a place in the GBR (guiness book records).
Biggest ball of wax anyone? Or longest nose hair? How's bout dog wagging tail for longest time? Or cat purring so loud it sounds like a chain saw?
Sheesh, the GBR has turned into a fiasco, othing in there makes sense anymore. I always go "why the hey would anyone wanna do that??" whenever I read about a "feat" in the GBR.
