This weekend I decided to look into ice mining. Checking the EVE website and then the ingame market the Ice Harvester II is listed, but none are available for purchase. Also checked escrow.
I then asked my corpies to do a market check in the regions they were in to see if any were available. None popped up. Then a few corpies said they didn't think it was actually in the game yet.
Now if this is true am I the only person who thinks having it listed on the website and on the ingame market abit foolish? Like going to a resturant that advertises a certain dish. You get there and find it on the menu, but when you go to order it the waiter says "Oh we actually never had that, but it looks good on the menu so we keep it listed." Get pretty annoyed wouldn't ya? Having spent time and effort and made plans for that meal. Same with going to the website looking up items. Finding something on the website, then finding it again on the market, but it's actually not available.
Now if my corpies were mistaken and it is in the game can someone please respond and say where?
If it's a T2 BPO given out by R&D agents I think a few more need seeded because those who have them aren't making them.

Currently there's 1 BPO in-game, to my knowledge, and the guys is kicking em out at a rate of knots, but being a new T2 product they're both very expensive (60 mil a laser I think it was) and back-logged for months. ----------

Well if that is so then it's obvious a few more need seeded. Least one per race to get them spread out and available.
This shouldn't be a prob for the guy who has the only one in the game as he obviously has more business then he can handle. The demand will still be high but at least there will be more availability.
EVE is regularly breaking 25k online and has more then 100k subscribers. Time to up the the bpo lottery output to match.

same goes for HAC's, Caprecharger II's and every other wanted item, they are almost been looked at as faction items wich is just not right.
Its plain stupidity the way things are arranged now esspecially compared to tech I items of wich eacht BPO can be bought.
People who are blaming the resellers, get a clue, they are smart.
CCP should solve this problem with overpricing and availbility at the root.
Also i cannot believe that CCP doesnt make this a high priority case, as it annoys the said 100k subscribers !!! and is in general terms unfair gameplay.

EVE has a number of similarities with real life, another one of those happens to be that there will always be someone with bigger guns, or more money. Or do you want everyone to end up in a WoW look-a-like where after 3 months everyone has the best equipment, and the max number of skills possiable?
============== This is a sig O RLY? - Imaran I've only done 4 hours of Tools for 2D graphics, give me a few weeks and i'll be cool, really. |

Not asking for 20,000 bpo's to be released here. asking for 3 more. The EVE universe is huge. POS are everywhere. Ice mining has to be done constantly and is the most boring thing in EVE. Even more boring then regular ore mining as it least moves along at a decent pace, comparetively. The game is supposed to be fun.
The EVE population is increasing, rapidly, and thus things like the number of bpo's needs to be increased to keep with the demand. Not more then when the bpo's were first realise just at the same amount. How many pos were in the game when the Ice Harvester II bpo was released? A lot more in the game now. Adding 3 more bpo's will simply allow for people in different areas to have access to an item that appears otherwise to not be in the game at all.
When many players think an item has not even been released into the game yet then there is too few of them.
These aren't dreads here that should be big and very hard to get. These are a convince to make dealing with the lamest part of the game a bit less painful. Tossing out 3 more will still make the bpo owners insanely rich without hurting the original guy in the slightest.
Also as you said in real life simularities. If someone has a product that many people want and can afford but can not keep up with demand someone else comes up with a competing product that is virtually the same and fills that need. Right now the guy with the bpo can't fill the need. So somewhere someone would come out with a competing product. Thus tossing out a few more bpo's match's real life.
So those whiners who are constantly using the real life arguement please shut up. Because your arguement is 100% wrong.

I saw some Ice Harvy 2's on escrow in Domain, going for 50mil each. Would have bought some to go on my Mackinaw, but with the fall in ice products over recent months I just couldnt justify the cost for sparkly kit that fits to a ship I no longer fly..

Now see...in my original post I didn't even know if they were in the game none the less when they got put in.
If it's been a massive 3 days then waiting around for them to start appearing I can do. I just hate people trying to use the it's like real life arguement.

If the IH2's bpo's were released at the time of the last patch, most self respecting owners will want to put the bpo's into research for a while to maximise production. Obviosuly there are some that like to get the run on the market straight away and start producing on an unresearched bpo just to be able to get their product to market first and steal the 'oh my gosh, must have that' crowds money from those that have chosen to look at a longer term picture. Give it a month and the market will be full of them, the prices will have stabilised, much the same as Ballistic Control 2's and other long awaited t2 mods.
