I've not seen this topic addressed anywhere but since the new hardware has been installed I have been experiancing serious rash of disconnets. The exact error is "Lost connection to server", however my friend is on the same network connection and running fine. It seems to be most problematic when I'm idle. For instance reading something ingame, then go to exit station...disconnect. I created a new character the other day and got disconnect after each step, mostly I assume because I was idle while reading something.
Anyone else experiancing disconnects? It's becomeing rather frustrating. Also since I've never had a petition answered other than a stuck petition, I have not petitions this yet.

Get a tool like PingPlotter and trace your connection to this address: 87.237.38.200
Doing "tracert 87.237.38.200" can give you an indication of the problem but PingPlotter shows more historic data over time.
The hardware upgrades did also change our main provider to Level 3 Communications, this might be the cause for your problems, PingPlotter would give you an indication.

Actually today it seems to be more system reliant. in other words in the sytsem I'm in now its crazy bad....1 jump over...never disconnected and I was idle awhile over there.
Could the system I'm in have anything to do with it. Its not crowed...I'm all alone.

Multi-homing
We just haven't gotten all the connections up yet after moving, they happened to be the first. They have been hosting Singularity and we've gotten excellent service from them.

Hopefully they've upgraded their hardware and kicked the previous team of workers to hell and back (and back again), if not, I got a shoulder for you to cry on here..
Anyways, you dare to give an ETA on the whole hamster whipping deal?

Are we talking about the same organization?
We don't get hardware from them, just backbone connectivity, no ETA on final setup yet.

That's them alright.. That was in 2001 on the other hand so I suppose they can't have been in limbo for the last 5 years
And.. Ya... You do know they have hardware too, right?

I've had a conversation with Level 3.
Level 3 > I cannot connect to the device. Me > Is that address beyond your firewall? Because I can ping your firewall. Level 3 > I cannot connect to the device. Me > Is the interface down or is it just that you cannot ping a certain address. Level 3 > I cannot connect to the device. Me > OK I have a loop on just before your kit in Amsterdam can you tell me the status of the interface? Level 3 > I cannot connect to the device. Me > Are you an engineer? Level 3 > I cannot connect to the device. Me > Can I speak to an engineer? Level 3 > I cannot connect to the device. Me > Are you human or a robot? Level 3 > I cannot connect to the device. Me > Are you a ****wit? (attempting to get any change of phrase or tone ) Level 3 > I cannot connect to the device. Me > Bye

Since the upgrade, the response time goes up everytime it hits L3 in Europe.
Is this relelated? it goes from 40 to 90. The visual graph they have shows the same thing. Not that 90 is high at all, but it does show a jump in responce from them.

Well it seems this change explains why i cant even friggin play the game anymore since the login fails and when it does work the game crashes every 5 minutes. By the way do any one at ccp even look in the known issues part of the forums? There is a rather big thread about not being able to play because of "freezing" at the log in bar and massive amounts of disconnects.

Edited by: LittleHorror on 14/03/2006 14:19:25 I'm sure going to test that ping software, to see if that is the cause of the problem that I have, after the last patch, disconnects on 2 computer systems and freezing at inlog.
It takes me around 2 hours, to play for 10-20 mins ingame

I had same problem, it turned out to be was a router problem, dissconnectin router or DCHP fixed it however I found not so long ago new firware that fixed it so I can play with my router now. Never get any dissconnects now PS: I use Linksys router, and I heard of ppl wit same problem/solution using D-link and netgear...
also "no" I only experienced this problem with this game ever for years so saying I can play battlefield 2 with no router problem doesnt mean you wont have this problem with this game.
Perhaps this works for you m8!
Im a noob, bear with me :P |

God-dude....look up ReaKKtor media, Dev's of Neocron and Neocron 2. They use L3 for their network. Download and play it on a 14 day trial and see how many attempts it takes to get into the game without the message 'Synchronizing with server' sitting on your screen. You'll often have to log on 5 or 6 times to get into the game.
Not a good choice. Ditch em!

Actually, KK's Synch bullcrap is their own fault.. The minor horde of rollbacks and constant lag isn't tho.. (Then again, the synch wouldn't be needed if L3 got their act together too as KK needs the synch due to L3 not handling the information properly)
