When he tried to convo the guy whos name btw is Eld Smith from Sillage Technologies he got a bunch of worthless responses and the guy being a complete **** to him?
I mean why the hell cant the 0.0 areas be free of these morons...

Right, the guy who just got a Mega for 130K is a moron, not the guy who sold it to him

Maybe I am missing something but I fail to see the scam part. Your friend sold the ship for the wrong price and then expected the person who bought it to pay him an additional 90+mil to fix his screw up? Yeah I would just chalk this up to a very expensive lesson and move on.

Moral of the story here is dont trade while tired / drunk / otherwise intoxicated.
And FWIW I would not have given the guy his extra 100 mill either he screwed up and Eve is not the sort of place where you get protection from your Own screw ups.

Why don't you do it yourself ? And enforce your own policy instead of coming whining on those forums expecting other people to do your job.

Edited by: BCBArclight on 14/03/2006 10:12:33 Its very unfortunate that this happened but its happens all the time on escrow where people sell expensive things for 0.00 ISK, just chalk it down to experience and then if you still feel bad about it find the guy, and get a gang to pop him ----- Join ODESSA Heavy Industries we are currently recruiting. One would guess that he was going to type 130,000,000. Thus, 30mil higher than Empire anyway.
Its his own fault, its not a scam at all, As far as the buyer is concerned, your friends an idiot, or he wanted to give a cheap BS away.
For pennies, it seems.

I kinda don't understand how this comes under scamming the market in 0.0. No one scammed anyone your friend wasn't cheated out of his money, he just made a mistake himself and someone bought it. He could have canceled his order before someone bought it. Or he could have just not sold it if the buyer was only asking for a cheap price lol. No one scammed anyone, your friend was just silly

And furthermore.
Your pal was trying to sell it for 130 mil ISK right? So he was attempting to rip off the buyer. So.. Ok. In his haste to hit submit before the seller was told that 130 million is about 30 million too much... he got screwed.
Justice served.

I do agree that the buyer didn't do anything wrong. He was probably hoping that someone saw the wrong price, and would sell him the ship. I consider this as a cheap, but legal, trick.

This is the story of a girl, who cried a river and drowned the whole world....
Can't say I blame him for buying a BS for 130k if he got the chance, not like he tried to scam you, more like you ****** up and also ignored the warning about market price :p

The warning that has lots of red text and lots of zeros.
If you thought this was a scam, wait until you get to a station where theres only one sell order for shuttles and its 9mil each.

Actually, doesn't have to be. Set up a genuine buy order for say 100M. Someone puts up a sell order for an accidental 150K.
Now watch what happens: an instant sale, and for 150K. No scam on the part of the buyer, who nevertheless may be a very happy man now.
I once tried to get someone to avoid this who had just sold stuff cheap to to me, but he closed the conversation and sold me some more for the same silly low price.
What can I say, I was a happy man.
