wouldn't it be cool if you can see at once if a BP is a BP or BPC? i guess yes ;_)
and what about the following text as hint or printed out at the BP(C) icon? * original / copy(runs left/infinite) * min lvl: x * prod lvl: x

yep, most definatly there need to be a way of telling one from the other without opening it. Even if they had slight different shades that could be helpful. But i do like your idea of having the mineral & production lvl on the icon, that would be ideal.

The idea of the information on the icon sounds interesting, but it would seem to be an awful lot of information for such a small space. Also, don't forget you will have to keep the stack count in as well.

Yes, the need for this idea still exists, I think a background shade difference would be perfect, perhaps a lighter blue, vs the original shade. Also, I think we should bring back the capability of creating unlimited BP copies. Yes, I do see a need to created limited BPC's, but there is still a need to allow the creation of unlimited copies too, IMO. Perhaps a value of zero or -1 could be treated as an unlimited copy value?

Why is there a need for unlimited blueprint copies?

The only reason I would see for unlimited ones is that it would make BP partnerships more manageable. --- ...I came to realize the obviousness of the truth. What is EVE? Control. EVE is a computer generated dream world built to keep us under control in order to change a human being into a beta tester. |

I think you should be able to tell the difference from Original and Copy also. I think they just need to put a big "C" behind in the background.

I think Brisi is referring to the fact that if you've just got done making 2 copies of a BP, there ought to be a way to instantly tell the difference between the original and the copies without having to open them.
For example: - The letter C in the background or a corner (heck all 4 corners if you want) - A different color altogether. Blue for the original, light blue or blue-green for the copy ========================================== Hobbies: Seeking out the Village idiot and making sure I'm smarter. So far, so good!! |

I've been begging for this since beta! If you just made 10 copies of a blueprint it is very time consuming and stupid to right click on each one just to find the original again.

Using the corporate hangar and different divisions the cluttering of copies and the original is easily avoidable, doing it solo on the other hand...
Yes the copies should have a fat faint C in the background.

Sorry, I'm not aware of a downside to the unlimited BP copy, do share or point me in the direction of that thread. I would like the idea of the unlimited bp copy back so that I can have have production at many places without having to bring out a new BP copy every so many runs. If I can just drop off a copy, I don't have to worry about that little detail of production anymore. Also could give a copy to an allied corp, perhaps even exchanges. Granted there are some downsides to the unlimited bpc, such as corp theft I suppose, but I suppose that's a risk sometime. Perhaps the duplicate item in the research lab could accomplish this, with appropriate skill of course.

It is meant for you to have to travel bringing copies through space, something for pirates to prey on.
Do you also want the prints instafedexed to that 0.0 station of your choosing upon purchase?
