Now that you have the basics of PvP under your belt, its time to get down and dirty with some real live fire practice and ship fitting instruction! This course will take you out on a frigate wolfpack hunting any legit targets we can find (any target in 0.0 as well as any bountied pirate.) You will learn the pros and cons of fitting up frigates for wolfpack operations, how to take command of a frigate wolfpack and much more.
This is an advanced level course for students that have completed the PVP-BASIC workshop and wish to get even more hands on knowledge of how to fly in and command a frigate wolfpack.
You can find the enrollment thread here. Make sure you read the announcement in the forum of how to enroll first! -- Rells

Locations are announced in the forum for the class. Meet up points are always in high sec space to avoid ... unplesantness. After that we always move quickly and there are a number of directions we move in so that we hav options to avoid poeple that like to try and ruin things for others.I have never lost a pilot due to getting ganked on the way there and I dont intend to start now.

This is a really nice idea, Rells.
I hope it proves successful, its good of you to take the time to do it. I do a similar thing internally in the ISS, and I know it takes hard work :)

Noble intentions, but I'm not really for it; After the basic survival techniques, PvP is really all about strategy. I support everyone using their own strategies and when they get pwned, learn from the event and adapt your strategy. Much more fun that way than starting out at the top. (just use cheap ships until you get somewhat decent at it, otherwise it might not be quite so fun).

There is nothing "noble" here. I get paid to teach them. They decide to learn from me just as a spot welder might learn from a more expereicned tradesman. Sure you could fuddle around yourself and learn it eventually but why bother when you can get an education and not burn yourself so much? -- Rells

PvP is learned from the forum not a class.
It also not for learning PvP its more about safari. You pay the trainers for the privelege of going out hunting.

I agree, it must have and does take a lot of time to setup the PVP-Uni the way you have and with a professional looking website. The fee is nothing when compared to the RL hours you must be spending to help others. Isnt it amazing the amount of people who for some reason get envious towards sometime who decides to teach pvp, Im not sure what it is, it may be that they would like to be able to say they do that but dont have the inner fortitude to take it to a conclusion by sticking at it.
Way to go Rells, you are providing a sorely needed service to CCP and the EVE community with no help at all from the former from what I can discern. (combat) Your 720mm Howitzer Artillery I perfectly strikes Shipyard, wrecking for 488.1 damage.

Certainly PvP strategies must be honed and practiced, and RellsÆ classes canÆt make up for experience. However, getting a handle on the basics from a good pilot is a great addition to the school of hard knocks. By way of advertisement: I attended Rells basic PvP class. It was well worth the price. Rells proved himself to be an excellent instructor. He is knowledgeable and supremely patient. û ie I didnÆt get yelled at when I screwed up. A mistake, btw, that could have cost the lives of my corp mates if it had happened during war. IÆm glad I learned that lesson in the safety of a class.
Kudos Rellsà..

Thanks Grok. Was a lot of fun til we hit that 60 ship fleet But that happens from time to time as well. As you understand, PVP-BASIC is only the beginning. =) -- Rells

I view 5 mil as a very very small and insignificant price in a game where even 1 month noobs can acquire assets of 200+ million. Yes, you get paid and make a nice profit from this, but it is only because of the volume. It costs the customers very little compared to what it will save them in losses. I would expect the reasonable value of such a course to be at 20mil or more based on the value of ship losses and the time of actually fitting a ship that would be incurred assuming that (a) the customers actually don't know much about pvping and (b) you're course is thoroughly informative. Despite that you title the course "frigspec,"
Also, I still would consider many of those essential basic pvp tactics and survival techniques for any small gang. Call me a noob if you want, but what exactly would be different between frig spec and cruiser spec other than the ships you fly? All I see as a difference is the level of cautiousness and the greater importance of a scout. Other than that, the gang still operates in a similar function and performs the same basic tasks.

Some of the same stuff applies but flying a frigate well and flying a cruiser or battleship well are VASTLY different. Frigates live on speed, agility and guile. Cruisers live on combined firepower, ewar and a thousand other things. You should probably be a good frig pilot before you go to cruisers but Id say destroyers are in between. Destroyers wolfpack VERY DIFFERENTLY than crusiers or frigs.
One set of skills wont do, but flying bigger ships inevitably is easy if you know more abotu flying smaller ones. -- Rells

I was impressed, I thought i knew what i was doing as far as PvP goes since i've been in 0.0 since the first week and have fought with everything from a frigate to a BS. I was still missing quite a few basics that this filled in on. I also learned what happens when flying in 0.0 and it suddenly turns to empire space right as u catch your prey by the gate.
