Edited by: Sales Merchant on 14/03/2006 13:44:38 Riddle me this:
A GM has to move a Carebear, a Griefer, a Ore Thief, a Sentry Gun, a Omber Asteroid and a Can of Veldspar that are stuck in the same system to another unstuck system. He can move upto three at a time but must ensure that all 6 survive the transfer and nothing is lost.
Avoid the below from happening as you move them, If left alone together in the stuck system:
The Carebear will mine the Omber (Omber lost) The Griefer will gank the Carebear (Carebear lost) The Ore Thief will steal the Can of Veldspar (Veldspar Can lost) The Sentry Gun will shoot the Griefer (Griefer lost) The Griefer will destroy the Can of Veldspar (Veldspar lost)
Whoever solves this with the least amount of transfers wins.

Erm. Carebear, ore thief, and sentry gun first, then griefer, omber, and veldspar? ---

So move the veld can and the carebear. I guess the griefer and ore thief is the same guy with different accounts so he won't shoot himself ;)

You can't leave the Can of Veldspar and Griefer alone in the unstuck system. The Griefer will destroy it.

GM would just tell the players involved not to touch anything else he'll ban them. Probably just destroy non-players and respawn them in different system

Oh. Then carebear, sentry gun, and veldspar. Then the other group. Thief, griefer, omber. ---

Griefer, Sentry Gun, Can Of Veld
The Griefer's drones will attack the can of Veld cos they're bugged as ****, and then the Sentry Gun will kill him.
Repeat for ore thief.
Happy carebear.

Move the sentry gun, and then let nature take its course, right?
Actually, what would happen is that the stuck people would just have to wait until the next server restart.

Trip 1: Carebear, Griefer and Ore Thief go to location 1. On the return trip, the GM brings the Carebear back for safety. Trip 2: Omber Asteroid and Sentry Gun and Can of Veldspar go across. On the return trip the GM brings back the Griefer and the Ore Thief. Trip 3: GM takes the Carebear, Ore Thief and Griefer. that's the old 'wolf, sheep and cabbage' riddle, in an extended 3D-version. the tricks is again taking 3 items to system two, then taking one back, well... let's see.
move 1: carebear, veld can and sentry (griefer, ore thief and omber roid left behind) move 2: griefer, ore thief and omber roid.
this is even more easy than 'wolf, sheep...'. hm.

The GM doesn't care about the can of veld. Jetcans are for garbage and jetcan mining is an exploit. :p

To make sure no two incompatable pairs are kept in the stuck system alone together, in the first transferr, logically, we must have: one of: carebear, omber. one of: griefer, carebear. one of: ore theif, veldspar. one of: sentry, griefer. and one of: griefer, veldspar.
Therefore, to maximise transfers, we can have two three-person transfers as such: First: carebear, griefer, Ore Theif. (leaving Omber, Veldspar, sentry, which are all compatable left alone) Second: Omber, veldspar, Sentry.
There are plenty of ways to do it. You can switch the ore thief and veldspar around, for example, and it still works. Make a more difficult riddle :p.

Leave the Ore thief and the Griefer, and then let the Sentry gun tear them a new backside.

GMs ban all of them for breaching the EULA, and close all the gates in the area for good measure.

Been reevaluating my ideas and decided that the GMs would give a toss and declare the situation "Working as Indended".
Eris however I think would shoot them all down, just for the Fun of it
