Hi, I dont fly a Ferox myself, but I like making setups which can prove usefull to other players. Most Ferox setups use Heavy Missile Launcher for primary weapons, this won't! but it will use a passive shield tank! Since 250mm II deal more damage than Heavy Missiles II, on base, I intend to use the Railguns.
PvE:
5x 250mm II, 1x Heavy Missile Launcher II, 1x Small Tractor Beam 2x Large Shield Extender II, 2x Invulnerability Field II, Target Painter II 3x Power Diagnostic II, 1x Magnetic Field Stabilizer
With my skills + Implants + lvl 5 siege warfare
I will have 12009.237925781 Shield HP when I'm in a gang, just ask a random player if you can gang them ? maybe you have an alt in the same system ganged, so you recieve the gang bonus. My full Shield Rechare Rate will be 556.926256125 seconds
Shield: 12009.23 / 556.92 x 2.4 = 51.75 Shield HP/1 sec
Capacitor: 2894.0625 / 306.42 x 2.4 = 22.66 Cap/1 sec When you're running all modules at same time you will using 18.92 Cap/1 sec
Fitting Requirements: Got lvl 4 Advanced Weapon Upgrades PG: 1447.03125 PG/ 1433.2745 PG USED CPU: 593.75 CPU / 525.25 CPU USED
5x Warrior II in drone bay (or any other kind of T2 Light drones)
DPS: Made the Damage Calculations a few hours ago, and I cant be assed to make them again, but if I remember correctly you will be able to deal 280 DPS, roughly, with Max skills
1. Is the Shield tank good enough to tank all lvl 3 missions? (remember there is 2x Invulnerability Field II fitted) 2. Can you in improve My currently Ferox setups Damage or tank ? 3. Pottsey take a look ffs 4. I want Posts that makes sense and got some sort of calculations/setups
EDIT: dont point out my Typos please EDIT EDIT: you can now write your Posts, contact me ingame if you want a chat

Your setup should be able to tank lvl 3 missions easily enough. However, you may have trouble hitting frigs that get close with those 250s. I would suggest dropping the target painter for a webber to make the 250s useful against close frigs. I have no calcs to back up any of this. These are just observations from my own experiences.

I don't have "good" skills (no Tech 2 medium weapons yet), but I used a rail-Ferox to do some level 3 missions, here's my setup :
HIGHs : 5 x 250mm (Compressed) + 2 x Assault Launchers (Arbalest)
MEDs : 10 MN AB II, Medium Shield Booster II, Shield Boost Amplifier, 2 x Invulnerability Field II
LOWs : 4 x PDS II
DRONEBAY : 5 x Hornet I (what I had at hand, really)
I could do every level 3 mission pre-RMR while half asleep at the keyboard, but I haven't done any since RMR (had something else to do ingame) ...

I use a rail Ferox for lvl 3s - it clears them all fast and easy.
-You really dont need a passive tank. The 250s kill everything pretty fast.
-You definetly dont need a painter.
-5 light drones is very helpful. You can pick off most the frigates on the way in. But the Drones are nice for the few you miss and crucial for interceptors that get by.
But really I dont think your build is all that helpful. If you can use all T2 gear - its really hard to make a bad ferox setup.
Wherever you went - here you are.

I'm running a similar passive-tank-railgun setup and can easily do any Level 3 mission without much trouble.
I'm running:
Hi: 5x250mm Railgun II, 2xLimos Assault Launchers Med: 1x10MN AB II, 2xNamed Active Hardeners, 2xLarge Extender II Low: 4xPDU II
It's a fun ship and the tank is pretty decent. The power grid is a little harder to manage and you can't fit as big a tank as you can in a missile Ferox, but I still like it. Possibly because I have 4M SP in Gunnery and 180k in missiles :)

Edited by: Titus Z on 14/03/2006 22:40:11 you get nosed with that setup and youre done quick. But for a mission running setup its fun. You dont have to be very creative to easily run lvl 3 missions in a ferox successfuly.

I use heavy missiles, 2 150s and light drones and I can do any level 3 and several lvl 4 in a ferox. If you can't do level 3s in a BC then you're doing something wrong.
