It has been my understanding that since the D2 incident Devs are no longer allowed to partake in 0.0-gameplay. However the case might be I feel obliged to tell you that it is dying. Two massive superblobs currently own 80% of the 0.0 real estate and has turned it into empty wasteland with the odd botter or renter here and there. For several reasons there is no way for an indipendent alliance to "steal" a new home in 0.0 anymore. The few indipendents that are left are currently under massive attack as well. Unless something drastic is changed I predict a slow death for the 0.0 lifestyle during 2012. Many of my long time friends and aquitances have already unsubbed others are waiting to see if the winter expansion brings a change to the trend, if not they are gone as well. Below I give you a small list of things to improve, I am sure other players and devs can iterate or add to the list. As long as a change is made I am happy either way.
1. Sov bills: It was my understanding when Dominion came that the cost of holding sov in a alrge geographical area would increase exponentially until it was not sustainable. It is clear that this was not the case. The cost for intial sov (1-3 systems) needs to be lowered somewhat to give new alliances a chance while the cost for holding large areas needs to be severly increased.
2. Moon-goo: Take a moon and you are set for life. The insane income from a single pos, usually deep in your own territory, pay for your sov bills, your supercaps, your logistics replacement program and much, much more with microscopic effort. A few years ago the option to manufacture the rarest stuff was put in place. In my view the best option would be to simply remove the rarest goo from moons all together. To keep the market in check the production cost to manufacture it could be decreased.
3. Supercaps vs structures: Since you have finally realized using cost is not a good balancing tool you might also know that some alliances own 30-40 titans or more as well as dozens of mothers. Using all of these it is a simple matter to one-shot a pos or some other structure. Balancing this could be done by simply not allowing DDD, fighters and fighterbombers to be activated on non-ship targets.
4. Titan-bridges: It has become far too easy to move large fleets across the map in a matter of minutes where before it took hours. While titan-bridges (imo) should never have been put in the game to begin with, now that the "damage" is done something needs to be done to adress the issue. If your alliance wants to hold several regions it should be a huge hazzle to move your defence fleet from one border to the next. Change titan-brigdes to work like black-ops bridges: A fuel cost for each ship that jumps, derived from the mass of the ship. First off, it was T20.
1/2 -- not sure about these ones. 3/4 -- see upcoming winter expansion nerfs of supers and titans. |

So why was it okay to do everything you're complaining about when brick and MM were in the NC, hoarding all of the tech, but it's OHGODSUPEREVIL now you lost all that and you're losing another region?
Also, is it even possible to DD a pos, and aren't fighters and fighterbombers unable to hit large towers from outside the shields? |

In response to point 2, you can mark that off.
winter expansion is going to make SC's MUCH more killable, to the point that i guaranteee alot of alliances will either lose majority of their cap fleets in goodfights or liquidate them to some poor sucker who doesnt know they will be useless in a couple months. wither way, things are going to get at least a little more expensive in null-sec here soon, also, last i checked fighter/ fighter bombers wont be able to engage online POS's come winter if i read it right. |

1. I was actually away from game during the NC time. Quite apart from that this is not a complaint for my own part. I can barely log in anyway due to having small twin children. I just don't want the 0.0 game to die, because it is dying. Having played for 6 years I have friends in many alliances and they all attest to the same thing, they are all just waiting for the winter expansion to see if there is any point in continue subbing or not.
2. I heard that the alliances with loads and loads of titans simply DDD poses and be over with it in a few minutes, I may have been misinformed. None the less I have seen titans and mothers used to kill sov units.
Anyways. Thanks for all the input on sov warfare so far. Keep it coming, |

titans can not DD a POS but as their guns do a lot of damage they still help a bit
as for suppers they can not attack the tower if it's a large unless they use sentry drones wich will no longer be possible after the expantion
the only thing that suppers are great for in POS warefare is to defang a deathstar with fighterbombers they can incap all the pos mods rather fast while the guns barely scratch them and i don't think POS points work on suppers so if needed they can just warp out |
