Having recently made some changes to the way I play, I thought it might be a good idea to get into some jump clones. I trained the skill all ok.
Only to be told at 3 seperate stations that they didn't like me so wouldn't grant me one.
I have +ve standings, as does my corp, but obviously not high enough.
So if it's based on personal standings, doesn't that then mean that unless you've done a heap of missions you will never be able to use jump clones?
That seems a bit stupid to me. I've been told however that if I place a clone at the alliance outpost (where I can place one) and then jump into it from where I want the clone to be, it will then leave the body behind, giving me the jump clone I need.
Is this a messy system or what? I don't see why standings should determine jump clone ability. Anyone? JForce The Arrow Project N.W.A Reprezent

I keep a PVP clone, A Mission Runner/Training Clone, and a deep 0.0 Clone to make serious isk. Its not hard to place clones. Either buy a set of instas and head off to a 0.0 outpost, using an alt to scout ahead in case of warp bubbles, or buy one from your alliance outpost. --- Slot 10 Akemons Modified 'Noble'Zet 5000 implant +8% Armour FREE |

Think getting one at an outpost (e.g. buy one at ISS) is a lot easier than getting the standings with your mission agent corp (which is, in my eyes, close to impossible).

It's not that hard to get the 8.0 standings needed, however it's next to impossible for an entire corp to do so. 1 nebwie can completel ruin your corp standing, which is just stupid.
Having a person with a 10.0 standing and 0.0 standing with a corp is NOT the same as two 5.0's, yet it seems to work jsut like that now.

It's player content. For once you need to interact with other players to get something.
You can't just hump an agent until it happens, like so many things in this game.
ISS do it (you just have to promise not to shoot them I think) TRUST outpost also does it but at a cost of 50mill per month.

Just remember, the place where you buy the clone must be someplace where you and your corp have high standings set (whether player or NPC). When you buy the clone there, promptly fly somewhere else and dock, "then" jump into it.
I stress this because if you get multiple jump clones, and later attempt to jump into a clone that is stored in the same station your currently active body is docked at, it will destroy the body you are leaving.
Did that make sense?
In other words, don't make a clone jump if both you and a jump clone are at the same station... as only one "clone" body can be stored in the same station at the same time. It can't be used to swap to the most appropriately outfitted (with implants) body at the same station. Patch day always brings out the same 2 types of people. 1: "I'm an IT expert in RL, and they have done this all wrong" type. 2: "I'm a paying customer, fix it immediately or I quit" type. |

Thanks a lot guys, it's an interesting subject.
So what is the reason for requiring standings to have these available? Shouldn't it be something that anyone can use provided they have the right skill(s)? JForce The Arrow Project N.W.A Reprezent

I'm pretty sure it's meant as an incentive, sort of a precursor for the heavy duty importance that faction standings are going to have in Kali. Well you can make jumpclones in empire without the need of having the proper +8 standing yourself. Tada the solution jumpclones in empire for 15 mil.

doesn't iron have any conq stations/outposts or something? or friendly alliances who do? once you have 1 jumpclone in a friendly station you can travel to any other station you like, jump to your jumpclone from there and leave your old clone in the other station... rinse, repeat

Well you don't have to travel into 0.0 to get a jumpclone in a ISS station. You can do it in Empire see this add jumpclones in empire for 15 mil or contact Micang.

I do think the standing requirements are too high though, perhaps it should be "either" a corp or personal standing of +8 to put a jump clone in place.
We used to have a high enough standing with an Amarr corp but just a couple of new members with no standing were enough to remove the ability to install clones in empire unless you do the "cloning back to your 0.0 base" method.

CCP have these restrictions in place for a reason - corps may need to be more selective with members or organise big mision running days so everyone can boost the standings.
CCP: requested feature please - quite simple really.
For CEOs, days since last login details on all members in their Corp. this will help manage inactives and those that dont log in can be removed. |

You donŠt have to be in a player corp to be able to install a jump clone. If your corp doesnŠt have good enough standings but you do, you can just leave your corp and install jump clones while in the NPC corp and then rejoin your old corp.

That weak, having to resort to immersion breaking workarounds to set up the jumpclone, then again those were immersion breakers to begin with, there's simply no way to win with these things with any sense of self and pride intact are there...

1. Get jump clone at 0.0 player owned station. 2. Fly jump clone to where you want it. 3. Jump back to that 0.0 station, leaving your jump clone at the place you want it.
