Morning Maniac	Posted - 2006.03.15 13:13:00 - [1] Just over 2 years ago I got the idea of starting EVE University. A corp dedicated to helping new players. When I started I had visions of students running from lecture to lecture, taking report cards home to show to their granny to get some ISK or cookies. This never quite happened, instead I hope we have created an environment where everyone is free to participate and the new guyÆs word counts as much as anyone elseÆs. More then anything I value a personÆs integrity, initiative and creativity. These are the things that separate the great from the good in EVE (and anywhere else), lots of skill points or a big wallet are nice but in the end irrelevant to a pilotÆs success and enjoyment. Neutrality is one of the corner stones of EVE University and we take great pride in the fact that we have former students in most alliances. Even though we are not a power corp and do not aim to rule space like the thousands of other corps out there we have managed hold our ground for 2 years today. This would not have been possible with the help of many of you out there. Hundreds of players and corps have donated time, equipment and/or funds to us and these have been key in our survival. Many experienced players, from uber carebear to notorious pirates, are giving up time to help us answering the questions of new players and just to generate the atmosphere we cherish. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them?

There's a lot of people in Eve at the moment who probably wouldn't have stuck with it without your efforts - some sort of peerage or lifetime achievement award are in order, methinks.
