Edited by: Culmen on 17/03/2006 15:36:45 heres an idea that will never make it
say, concord officers have finally had it with their pay checks, long hours and calls at radom times to random places so they go on strike for 24 hours
result... empire is 0.0 for a day
we've seen when that happens on the test server imagine what would happen if it was applied to TQ
it'll be very easy to implement, CCP doesnt even need to have actors all they got to do is turn the concordoken switch from "yes" to "no"
the ensuing chaos would make for excellent fraps vids with n00bships getting ganked left and right with hardened PVPers lighting up the sky with macrominers being wiped off the face of the galaxy
honestly i would pay a large amount of real world money just to watch Jita burn
come on, just 23 hours heck id settle for 1 hour of PVP madness --------------------- Nerd 1: You like my Thorax? Do you want my Thorax? Tell me where you want my Thorax. Nerd 2: Yes, god yes, your Thorax is so gorgeous, stick it right into my Rifter, oh yeah |

Asside from the fact that we'd actually make a few people leave the game from excessive ganking YES!

Think it through... PvP by nature is by both parties agreement, i agree it would be lots of fun and they could always roll the server back the next day.
realisticaly, would it happen?
Never.

maybe with some editing, this could become a pvp consent form...
Linkage
replace "sex" with pvp
and the "straight,***,..." segment fits surprisingly well

Well considering that mining in general would be exterminated, I'd assume this would collapse the economy of EVE. Honestly, I wonder how things would go if for one day, shipping would basically grind to a halt. I mean the economy of EVE is real, and influenced by supply and demand like a real capitalistic economy right? Which means if shipping grinds to a halt, well, holy ****nap, bad things would happen. It'd be awesome to watch though.

If they wouldt roll back the server it all wouldt be nonless .. EvE is a virtual-story, if Concord goes into strike there will be hopefull no server rollback, as it is/was a part of the story ! But if concord goes into a strike , what about the sentry gun ? they still online if you think logical :P , so there must be at the same time concord goes into strike a hug organisation - who turns off every single sentry gun in empire - that means it takes more then 24 hours !
i only try to see it trough true eyes and not from the bloody PvP eye :) - i also wouldt like to see it and kick some ass in empire :) ... wouldt be cool to shut down all dockinbays on the station s also so noone can escape , but here you see another "problem" amd there alot more that makes a fake 0.0 empire almost undoeable !

You forget that if that happened, all the miners would hide in the bases for the entire time the strike was going on. Noobies would still wander aimlessly around, but really, how much fun is it to kill them repeatedly, it would get kinda boring. So, the people who would be getting killed, most likely are the PVPers, who are out in 0.0 sec space most of the time already. Its a nice thought though. The first 15-30 minutes (maybe) it would be a bloodbath.

Edited by: voogru on 23/03/2006 18:11:55 I think by what happened on the test server with every system being 0.0 was a prime example of why this would never work, and would be a fatal decision by CCP.
Heres exactly what will happen:
Mining would come to a halt. No mining = No minerals No minerals = No modules and ships No Modules and ships = your stuck in frigates and if your lucky, you'll have a cruiser. It would be very difficult to mine the materials for anything larger than a cruiser.
Since there would be no "empire space", people will go to where they can rack up the most kills, players would have a very difficult time getting out to more remote systems because they can be shot and killed anywhere by anyone. Just try to go somewhere in empire without seeing other players. It doesn't work.
After a week of FFA 0.0, pretty much everyone would be in a frigate.
About the only plus to this would be, ISK farmers would disappear.

LMAO!
Kudos to the OP.
I'm just a trader, but I still think this would be amusing for a full 24 hours.

Not that it would happen of course... hehehe.

I forgot to add one point:
Customs and the factional navies would still be up and running... don't forget to take those into account.

So basicly it would be possible if we let the navys over take 0.8-1.0 spaces and secure newbie space that way... Maybe step it up a tiny bit all other places and leave sentriesguns on... would be possible... the navys would keep big PVP corps from 0.0 space destroy all the traders and miners. Ofcourse there would be killing but lets not forget the force of EvE that its real in as many terms as possible. People who hate PVP has allways meant to be in secure space mostly where most no CONCORD protections are anyways.

Is this not what they are planning but on a limited scale for the faction war coming up soon? I heard it was to be random roaming 0.0 systems throughout Empire space. The entire universe would not be 0.0 though as that would wreck the economy.

I was going to write a big rant involving pirates whining about wcs and how they love to pick on the weak and run at the first sign of trouble or a fair fight. but now, I'm, not going to bother... oops.
still dumb idea. Why not ask ccp to just dump every player in the galaxy into whatever 0.0 (but more then likely a lowsec) system you probably gate camp at. better still, remove wcs and all ecm that day and force each player to pass through that gate.
dumb idea.
