Space based agents hang around jumpgates and stations in some systems but I can't for the life of me think of which ones I've seen them in. (Cistuvert, maybe?) Anyway, look for ship icons with what looks like a little word balloon over them, right-click and Start Conversation...
You can find the easier rats in asteroid belts in 0.7 or 0.8 systems. Just warp around between them until you find some. home.earthlink.net/~tanstaafl/eve-sig.jpg[/IMG]

You can find rats in any 0.7 or below system in asteroid belts. The lower the security rating, the harder the rats.

Edited by: Tulthix on 17/03/2006 17:21:13 Read this section of the guide, specifically the finding an agent section: http://www.eve-online.com/guide/en/g11.asp
Note level 4 agents are in.
why not:
Finding an Agent
The tutorial agent who welcomed you to the world of EVE will introduce you to a second agent once you have completed your tutorial missions. You may use that agent or look for another agent to work with.
All NPC corporations have agents. Level 4 and 5 agents are not available yet as content for them are still being written. Agents working for corporations loyal to the CONCORD or the Jovian Directorate are also unavailable for now. Those corporations include the Inner Circle , the DED, the SCC and CONCORD proper for the CONCORD faction and, in currently accessible space, Genolution, Impro and X-Sense for the Jovian faction. All other agents are available to anyone who meets their standings requirements.
The agents tab in a corporation's info window will show all agents and their availability. Agents unavailable because of their standings requirements will display the required standings when you query their agent info.
More information about corporations can be found in the World of EVE section of the official EVE website at http://www.eve-online.com/corporations / (out of game).
Agents are assigned to a corporation's individual divisions. The type of mission an agent can give is in part determined by the agent's corporation and division. All agents give out a mix of combat and courier missions. Agents working for the military (e.g. the Federation Navy), a corporate security service (e.g. Ishukone Watch), or a security division within a corporation (e.g. Internal Security), are more likely to give combat missions. Agents in the R&D division of research companies are research agents. Research agents only give missions to researchers working with them on research projects. We will cover research agents in a separate chapter.
ò Open "People and Places" from the NeoCom bar.
ò Set the search type to Corporation.
ò Type in "Astral Mining."
ò Click the info icon in the results window.
ò Activate the register "Agents."
ò Click on the downward arrow next to the Mining division.
ò Click on the info icon for the first agent listed as "Not available to you."
ò Check the standings requirements.
More agents will become available to you when you meet their standings requirements. Standing is split into personal standing (your standing with the agent), corporation standing (your standing with the agent's corporation) and faction standing (your standing with the faction to which the agent's corporation is loyal). Personal and corporation standing are gained by doing missions for an agent and/or corporation, faction standing is gained by doing "Important mission." Personal, corporation, and faction standing are also gained by training the Connections skill.
The percentage of standings gain and loss is determined by agent level, mission and agent quality. All agents have a base quality which is modified by your standing and relevant skills to the level of effective quality displayed in the agent info window. Any higher level agent of bad quality is better than a lower level agent of excellent quality, e.g. a level 3 agent of quality -15 gives better standings rewards for completing missions that a level 2 agent of quality +15.
ò Open "People and Places" from the NeoCom bar.
ò Set the search type to Corporation.
ò Type in the name of a corporation you'd like to work for.
ò Click the info icon in the results window.
ò Activate the register "Agents."
ò Click on the downward arrow next to the division you'd like to work for.
ò Click on the info icon for the last agent listed as "Available to you."
ò Check the agents location against your location in the map.
ò If the agent is too far away, check the agent listed above that one or try a different division/co

Darcek: Are you looking for easier security missions, or do you want to go back to courier missions?
Is there a corporation you'd like to work for?
If you don't know of one, which race would you like to work for (gallente, amarr, minmatar, or caldari)?
If you can answer these questions, we can help you. But there's not much we can do without these details.

I recommend doing the tutorial over again. It goes over the People & Places window and how to find your agent in it. That is also my hint as to how to find your original agent. ----------------------------------------------- "Eve is a sandbox. Pick up a shovel and make yourself a castle."

darcek,
I believe you are asking about Cosmos agents. Here is a thread: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=297149&page=1#5
Originally by: Star Devil -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Does anybody have a list of where the cosmos agents are located, is there a link or something ? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Minmatar cosmos is located in the "Ani Constelation" Gallente cosmos is located in the "Algintal Constelation" Caldari cosmos is located in the "Okkelen Constelation" Amarr cosmos is located in the "Araz Constelation"
Cosmos agents is floating in space, and give out 1 mission sequence, that always end in a important mission. You can find them at locations showing up on your overview as "warp 2 beacons". Some are floating around at gates or found hidden away at moons, planets.. whatever.. part of the cosmos fun is to explore.
This list was provide by Ruffio Sepico Minmatar Hidden Agenda

The space agents that I've seen are shown on the Overview (if you have them checked to show) as small Concord ships with a little cartoon speech bubble attached to them. The ones that I've encountered so far seem to be storyline agents, and have given me only one mission each, so there may not be a lot of productivity there. Your map will also show agents under stars/my associates/my agents. Wave your pointer over a system and you'll get a box with full info about each agent in the system and where they are.
This sig for rent. Convo me in game. |
