(This is just a place for Miners to talk or any one that wants to.)
Ckmo came into the bar looking to get him self a cold drink after a day of mining the belts. He came up to the bartender and took a stool. "just give me something cold". The man put the drink down and Ckmo payed him. He took the glass and took a sip from it. He would not say it was the best frink he had ever had but it not to bad. He Sat there siping his drink as he tryed to figure out how much he could make on his next time out. Sunsets above other oceans. and great sights and mighty wonders to behold |

'Lo Ckmo, are you a high-sec or low-sec miner? I've been operating out of Penirgman myself - I'm a Gallentean I know, but to me it makes more sense to take ore away from the Amarr before some poor slave has to do it. What do you pilot?

Edited by: Ckmo on 18/03/2006 16:12:29 I do a bit of both. Heh iam in there space right now mineing there ore. At the time I am in my Badger its slow at mining but it holds alot more than my other ship. What ships do you spend time in? Sunsets above other oceans. and great sights and mighty wonders to behold |

Well, when I got to space and started cutting those rocks up I was suddenly hit by Miner's greed - the urge to go after the biggest rocks and grab as much as quickly. I've got myself a Retreiver barge which I strip the asteroid belts of Penirgman with.
I've hit rough times though, rookies who think they're all that and harass the Miners. I find myself training combat skills to equip destroyers I could've had days ago if I'd wanted them. Nosferatu's, Webbers, Warp Disrupters, all so I can hold my own against those who won't mine for themselves and murder my crew for their own entertainment.

Devon walks into the bar, glances around and yawns.
"Another long day in the belts." he mutters to no one in particular.
He makes his way to a window booth and stares out at space, trying to let his nerves rest before heading out to help try an' clean out this Sansha problem they've been having around Avair.

Good on ya Devon. Sansha's have been the miners bane in 0.7 space since the old man's vaunted utopia collapsed. I wish Concord would finish them off once and for all.

Devon seems to snap from his gaze of the spinning planet below the station and turns to greet the voice addressing him.
"Yeah, and they seem to get tougher the further you go. Fought a few in 0.3 space that I had to run from... twice! Silly things just wouldn't back off. And the missiles... oh, the missiles..."
A dark, almost angry look flashes across his face for the briefest moment, and then disappears just as quickly.
"Derndest thing is... I can't make heads or tails of where they keep coming from! I mean, Sansha was killed decades ago, right? His monsters should have been cleaned up by now. But just when I think a system is finally rid of them, POOF, you got more than before!"
He sighs, a long drawn-out ordeal that speaks paragraphs on his frustration, and looks back at the planet below.
"Well, I suppose I should get back to my Vexor and get those mining lasers pulled off and railguns mounted. Doesn't look like this problem is going away..."

Aleria strolls into the bar wearing sunglasses and carrying designer bags, "Another hard days shopping" she sighs before parking her bottom on a stool and ordering a Catalina Margarita. She proceeds to slurp margarita noisily, oblivious to all the bemused looks sheÆs receiving. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tsual walks in and takes a stool directly at the bar.
Three shot Omber's Glance He shouts.
The bartender nods filling a glas. Tsual pulls a pack of cigarrets out of his coat and lights one. Inhaling slowly he looks around. No one he knew. Didn't matter as long as the drinks were good.
The bartender puts a glass with a clear golden liquid before Tsual. Mumbling a Thanks he empties it in one draft.
Didn't matter as long as the drinks were good. He orders another.

"yall come here often?"
It wasn't the best of greetings, but he's not all that used to human contact. He isn't even sure himself anymore whether it's habit or the way he likes it

Rah'Thalak walks through the door, looks around, then sits in the corner waiting for the waitress
Looking around, Rah'Thalak notices there isnt alot of miners in this "Miners Bar". Pondering a question in his mind; Is there any bloody miners left in Tranquility
But courage which goes against military expediency is stupidity, or, if it is insisted upon by a commander, irresponsibility |

There are plenty of miners everywhere! But it's not exactly a nine to five job. The longer you stay in the pod, the richer you become.

Devon staggers back into the bar, dark circles under his eyes.
"Ugh... Well at least those Sansha won't be bugging anyone else ever again."
He sits at the bar, orders a stiff local drink, and closes his eyes in a grimaced attempt to forget the past 48 hours.
"Well, it's back to Zhilshinou after this. Corp needs ore, and I need money."
Openning his eyes, he glaces around the room.
"Any of you interested in making good cash? My corp pays decent. Handsomely at that. If you come help me mine, I'll give you an equal cut of my commission. Meet me in Zhilshinou."
With that, he finishes his drink, groans to no one in particular as he pays the bill, and staggers back towards the hangars...

Any of y'all know how much ISK I can net ice mining? 5.7 mil for the ice miner's seems kinda a lot...

*elrianmk2 nods at the Ice mining question* It depends on your skills really, but on the market you can make about 500k an hour per strip miner with no real specialised skills other than the ability to refine ice. Your best bet though would find someone who is willing to pay you a contract for ice, they can be a lot more profitable if you find the right client.

I'm gonna throw it out there that you're too enthusiastic about the white stuff Doc. I've got 61,000 cubic meters sitting in my hangar at the moment packed into refrigeration vats and I just can't move them stuff! No one buys in the region, so I'll have to fly it up somewhere else, with all the attendant risks in that. Does anyone know the best regions to offload this stuff in? I'd like to make more then 100k per unit, otherwise it's just not worth the time it takes out in the fields.

Miner's bar eh? hope it includes part timers.
*proceeds to order a*"Crokite Sunrise"*which, upon its delivery, he looks at the semi-clear blue liquid skeptically*
Interesting name for the stuff. *sips the liquid slowly, finding it quite tasty, and seems pleased with his order. transfering the approriate isk plus a decent tip the bartender*
So, I hear talk of Sansha's in here. Any of ya ever have dealings with the Guristas? First in, Last out. We leave no one behind. I give no quarter, and ask none. For I am Arrow. |

Edited by: Tsual on 31/03/2006 13:21:20 Tsual nods to Elrianmk2 as greeting.
Bah Ice mining, heared the market is quite overrun already, and then I can't realy drag myself into a barge ... to slow, to sluggish and no turrets. Only drownz.
Tsual shivers for a short moment. Then returning his attention to his new drink he emptyes the glas. Hastly finishing his gripe.
It ain't somethin' I can get myself to like, as long as it ain't has no turrets or launchers.
Raises the empty glass in direction of the Bartender. The other man nods and finishes serving a different guest first.

Tanks man, it's all about the tanks. So long as you understand engineering, treat it right, you can power up 400mm Rolled Tungsten plates on a good barge. The mechanics love the stuff, spend all their bouncing balls of the hull just to hear how it doesn't even echo. Throw in a Small Armor Repairer and some drones, get a half-decent crew together to mind them, Sanshas, Angels, Gurista's - whatever - won't bother you right down to 0.5 sec space.
Nanotech is a beautiful thing when it's in action, though slightly less beautiful I imagine for the guys who have to crawl into the hull space between the armor and structure and clear nanite overruns.

Karl Mattar strides in, brushing the last traces of omber dust off of his otherwise pristine navy uniform. He settles down in a quiet corner, discreetly adjusting his heavy blaster pistol for easy access. His scowl seems to mirror his thoughts.
"A lot of riff raff here today", he tells the waitress in a quiet voice. "Whisky on the rocks."
He overhears a conversation about part timers, and says to no one in particular, "The way this cluster is going these days, part timers is all any of us are. Between the Guristas, war decs, and ore thieves, it's a hard days work just to bring in the haul, and no one gets out of the fight." ---

*quietly downs the rest of his drink, absorbing the rich taste of the liquor, he listens intently to whats being said about the Barges and whatnot*
Yea, a buddy of mine flies a retriever out in no-sec. damn near got it shot out from under him tryin to accelerate to warp, a few Guristas battlecruisers jumped into the belt, and instead of goin for the Angel's Speed, my Armageddon at the time, they chose the easier target. *sighs, remembering that pilot got out with about...10% structure remaining on his ship, and recalls he never did find out if the majority of the crew survived*
*he turns to look at the Naval reservist that recently entered, and nods agreeingly in his direction*
Yea.. If it isnt a pirate corp, or a war dec, its ALWAYS ore thieves. not that CONCORD will intervene. At least they wont intervene when you shoot at em finally, glad that edict was added to their charter.
*shrugs as he orders another one of those*"Crokite Sunrises"*and upon its delievery again he pays up for it and tips decently to the bartender nodding his thanks*

Anyone here a fan of old weaponry? This thing was old technology even way back before the Gallente got into the sky. I think it's got some charm to it. Based on some old spec called .357, but no one's got any ideas what those numbers might mean. Has a nice heft to it though, I like to keep it in the pod with me while I'm out in the belts. Nothing worse then docking and having Amarrian thugs mess with you at a station.

Finally having a chance to relax in peace for a bit, Karl looks over at the rather out of place lady pilot who was wandering around the bar aimlessly.
"There is what happens to you when you spend far too much time staring at the big dark, and not enough time paying attention to what counts. The boosters probably didn't help much either." He quickly dismisses the stranger, and returns to the business at hand.
He pulls out his datapad and starts reviewing the day's omber haul. "Not bad", he says to himself. "And they say that CAIN is at war. Well, I could use a few more 'wars' like this to clear out the belts and pad my bank account." ---
