"Man's mind and spirit grow with the space in which they are allowed to operate." - Krafft A. Ehricke (1917 - 1984)
Eve Defence Force.
Eve: The galaxy in which we live. Defence: Reference to the people who "Defend" against Piracy Force: The men and women working together towards this common goal.
Eve Defence Force is a Miliatary Corporation. We are not a democracy, we have a Chain of Command that everyone must follow and we're very good at what we do. Our corp over the last three months has made more kills than most of the corps in the other major Alliance. Here are some facts:
600 Kills in Jan 900 Kills in Feb 425 kills in Mar (month to date)
Over this time we've either surpassed or made more kills than NBSI, G Alliance, I R O N, Occassus Republica and Black Omega Security. This is not a flame On the contrary, we both respect the above greatly and are honoured to be achieving kills that exceed these renowed PvP organisations. The facts simply speak for themselves.
To this end, Eve Defence Force acomplishes its goals through several Divisions across three Wings.
Eve Defence Logistics
Responsible for Mining, Manufacturing and Supply runs to and from Empire Space.
MARC - Mineral Acqusition and Resource Collection
MARC is our Minining and Haulage Division. Members of this Division are paid on a tierd system of ISK per unit of ore. The ore you mine is at the descrection of the Director but it is safe to say that 99.9% of the time it is Bistot, Ark and Mexcorite. The values can be found on our website but suffice to say, a dedicated Miner will become a Billionaire inside a month. The Mining Operations Payment is shared equally amongst the Tank, Haulers as well as the Miners.
ARED - Advanced Research and Engineering Division
ARED is our R&D Division and due to security concerns, it does not externally recruit. The primary responsiblity for this Division is ensuring our hangers are always full of the best Tech 1 and Tech 2 Equipment and Ammunition. Its secondary responsiblity is the creation of goods to sell. If you are qualified to join ARED (must be a master Tech 1 Builder) then you must first prove yourself in one of our other Divisions first.
STAR - Sales, Trading and Acqusition of Resources
STAR deals with the selling of of the goods that ARED produces. It houses our traders and deals with the acqusition of resources that cannot be naturally found within Frontier Space. The Director in charge also deals with the liasing with our Alliance partners over the Supply runs with our Freighters.
Members of STAR are recruited both externally and internally, depending upon the side of the Division they enter. To be part of our Merchant Fleet, you must be able to fly a top tier industrial and are highly encouraged to train for Transport Ships, Blockade Runners and Freighters.

Corporate Fleet Wing
Corporate Fleet Wing consists of our Covert Operations Division as well as two full Legions providing us with 18 hour combat Coverage. We are currently looking to increase this to 24 hour coverage.
ICIS - Intelligence, Counterintelligence, Infriltration and Security
ICIS covers everything from collation of information to spying on members to infriltrating our enemies ranks to internal security of our space, assets and members. The are two areas we externally recruit to of this division. The first is Security.
This is made up of our PvErs who are responsible for protecting our Miners, Killing Angel or Sansha Convoys (where the minerals are turned over to the corp) or Belt Rats. When not "Tanking" for a Mining Operation, they are required to donate 25 mill per week to our Cheif Financial Officer, Wkumi Argo. Due to the danger presented by these Pirate Factions, a Battleship or Tech 2 Combat Cruiser is required.
The other is the Extraordinarii, our Black Ops team. Members of this team must be able to fly Tech 2 Frigates and Cruisers only. No BS or other Tech 1 ship pilots are allowed in this team. It is responsible for sabotage,
Legions - PvP
From Condors to Carriers, Drones to Dreadnaughts, our PvPers specialise in a variety of ship types and Weapon systems. Currently split into two Legions; Orca and Eagle, our combat Legions have an 18 hour coverage. To be an Eve Defence Force PvPer you must have PvP expereince and must have a Battleship. This is because of the nature of the way the Legion's make money.

General Operations Wing
General Ops is our covers any operations that do not fit under the Catagory of Logistics or Combat.
ASTRAL - Academic and Scientific Training in Research, Agents and Logistics.
ASTRAL is an external division and wholly owned subsidory of Eve Defence Force and operates under the name of Eve Defence Academy (EDF-A). The purpose of this Division is to train up recently licenced Capsuleers for survival both during Empire Wars and life on the Frotnier's of space (0.0). Members of Eve Defence Force are prohibited in joining this division and all members range from 0-3 months old.
Agent Running Division
This division deals with Empire, Cosmos and Deep Space Agent Running. Our Agent Runners work together in Teams and are clustered close enough to support each other in times of war. Any Merc or enemy corps who think that EDF's Agent Running Side is a soft touch will soon find 20-30+ Agent Runners all used to Combat and all with sufficient PvP training to survive heavy attacks.
Our Agent Running Division deals with members who run missions in both Empire and Frontier Space. It also has the additional responsiblity for (jointly with CoRM) management of our local Deadspace Complexes in Ascenia. These are a 7/10 and an 8/10 Complex. Access to these are heavily regulated and restricted for corp projects only.

- PvPers must have previous expereince and be capable of flying a BS.
- Miners need to be able to use a Retriever and an Industrial ship.
- Agent Runners need to have a level 3 Agent.
- Alrounders, i.e. those people who like to do a variety of tasks will need to fufill the above criteria.
- All members need to be prepared to fight for your home.
EDF-A Minimum Requirements
- members must be under Four Months old
- All members need to be prepared to mine. In return all your skills and ships are paid for until graduation
- Members need to have T.S. installed
If you wish to apply, please go here and make a post, then join the channel Bar - EDF and ask for a recruiter. That is our chat channel and interviews will be conducted in private. Also ensure that you remove the CSPA charge. It's a pain when ganging people.
We operate a 7 day turn around for contact. That's because our recruters like to play the game as much as you do, so please remain paitent. Blank applications will be rejected as a matter of course.

The Academy's first set of Recruits will be graduating soon. Then we plan to iron out the bugs and examine what went well and what didn't go so well and make changes as appropriate.
The aim is that you will spend up to the firs three months of your life in Eve in ASTRAL before transfering to Eve Defence Force. We ask that you remain paitent when applying and allow us a short time to make this a better experience for you all.

Point of note for PvPers. Whilst the corp provides ships for you at reduced cost, as well as weaponary and ammo, our PvP Legions are also assigned a Monthly budget to pay for Tech 2 ships when lost in the line of duty. Basically, you'll rarely have to pay for something yourself.
This is a limited budget so the onus is on you not to get yourself killed and waste it. So far for March, our members have barely touched the budget due to low losses.

Joining EDF is the best thing I've ever done in EvE. This was the first corp that I've been in where I feel like a part of something bigger then me. There always seems to be one type of corp activity going on. So if you are looking to join a great group of truely team players you're found the right place.

Edited by: Herculite on 19/03/2006 20:22:41 I've been in the Academy since it reopened now and they have made an honest effort to help us out, make us feel welcome, and make sure we are more effective than just being cannon fodder when we hit 0.0. Not that there is anything wrong with cannon fodder, some of my best friends are cannon fodder.
Its a good group of people.

This is only my second day as a member of EDF-A, but I know this is going to be my home in eve. If your looking for a corp that really spends the time to recruit good players, and will help you gain whatever goals you have in eve, this is the corporation to apply to.
Just my .02 cents :P EDF - Eve Defence Force

I joined EDF-A about a month ago because I was seeking a new direction - one where I could learn combat, how to survive in 0 space, and be part of an alliance. As they have supported the growth in my skills and tactics, I've become more confident in my own playing. The folks in EDF-A are friendly and have a variety of their own knowledge that they wish to share with others, and the EDF members that help to instruct us are frank and willing to share their experiences with us. In short, EDF-A is what I hoped it would be: making me ready to play in 0 and have fun doing it with people I know.
I'd recommend it to others and do when asked.

Whatever next?
Oh and on the 17th of March, I recalled the PvPers to Feythabolis. On the 18th March I made this new post. Tonight they went back to Operations.
Current Kill Stats: 470 Kills Month-to-date.
That's 45 kills. Not bad for carebear hobbits eh?

I joined EDF about a month ago and all I can say that it's the best decision I have made in game yet! The region we own is a very lucative one alowing me to spend less time grinding out isk and more time to PvP, helping out in various ops providing fighter support, and what ever else I like to do to help out the corp. This corp is very well organized and you sure get the feeling that you are in something much larger than yourself. Apply today and enjoy the game the at a whole new level!

Not quite sure how to take that. Thanks for the bunmp though
People, some facts for you. Out of the last 77 days, EDF has only spent 3 days not PvPing. That's what you can expect from us. In just over 24 hours, we've made 91 kills. So for any of you experienced, hardcore PvPers out there, ask yourself how many your corp has made in that time.

You're like Burn Eden with a badge, man. Privateers more than soldiers.
Explain to me how what you guys spend 10 hours a day doing is anything more than glorified ratting. You guys are basically npcing on Deklein residents too dumb to watch local, and that's it. It's kind of a joke, and doesn't bear any real resemblance to pvping at all. -------------------------------------------- "A plan is just a list of things that don't happen." -- Parker, _The Way of the Gun_

What is PvP o' mighty guru? Does it involve two strong men meeting on equal terms in a fight to the death?
Ignoring the homoerotic undertones, on the one side you have John Wayne and Rudyard Kipling and on the other: Sun Tzu, Machiavelli, Clauswitz, Mao, Genghis Khan etc. etc.
Now personally I love John Wayne and Kipling (which is probably why I suck at PvP combat), but .... do I really need to finish this point?
