Since so many people are affected by DT over the weekend, I think it should be eliminated over the weekend and instead have a slightly longer DT on Monday morning?
What do you guys think?

Due to more people logging in the weekend (most of us are free from work/college) we still need the DT to clean up the servers and alocate server resources to more populated areas.
In other words, removing DT from the weekend could cause problems if maintenance is required.

Move the DT for weekends to earlier in the morning? Say 9am GMT?

Anyone with basic server administration knowledge could figure this out. Go jump on someone elses ass.

I work with a database everyday, I don't adminster it but my network admin always tells us to close down our application link to the database whenever we're not using it as it decreases load.
And I'm just an office lacky no expert but I also know that its just smart to restart a server that hosts over 100,000 players throughout the week everday. (And anyone rememeber the only major problems we have is during patch days which is to be expected)
Anyway whats the problem with DT? Go watch a DVD? I got the band of brother's dvd box set recently and I go watch one episode every DT (each one being just about an hour long). Next I'll be buying all of the House series.

Indeed
And as the 9 pm reboot, just forget about it.
CCP staff goes to work as well guys, they do not sleep by the servers waiting to press a button and gazooooom restart, they close the server down not just for fun, they aply patches fixes, database stuff essential work for the server to run without problems the rest of the day
And they also wanna sleep a bit more on a sunday
