The new POS fuel pellets were announced today! It's wonderful, and they're called Fuel Block!
Judging by the image of the Fuel Block, the fuel in question is in liquid form. That's great! It's like transporting a large quantity of explosive in the cargo of my ship! Now, figure, what happens when my ship carrying 20 000 cubic meters of reactive liquid is blown up?
Ah, I think I know; BOOM!
It would be absolutely awesome if ships transporting Fuel Blocks exploded in a spectacular fashion that could only be attributed to dangerous fuel. Here's a bonus example; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUV1PiSm8jk
It would be even better if said explosion caused aoe damage, but I understand that would cause some mayhem in a lot of situation. Imagine a large fleet fight and someone decides to bring a suicide freighter in the middle of the fleet. Oh, the tears...

- people who "suicide bomb" using your idea and
- people who "smartbomb" or use "stealth bombers"

It would be hilarious!
On a serious note, the damage is not necessary or could be tweaked to be minor, say 1 omni damage per fuel block which would result in 780 damage for a 39,000 m3 Iteron V filled Fuel Block.
I'm mostly interested in the visual (useless but very cool) and the fact that fuel blocks are destroyed if the ship transporting them is also destroyed. |
