Question:
Is possible and worthy to make a mining destroier using all those turrets to fast mine asteroids and them return with a basic industrial to collect the loot. The idea is to make an easy mining tool for new players with low skills.
Example:
-Catalyst with 8 basic miners -Mine loooooooooooots of mineral and jetisson to space (those containers). -Return with a low level industrial to collect the money -Became rich and happy
Is it ok?

Miners need allot of CPU. weapons need allot of Grid. Destroyer just doesn't have enough CPU to pull this off.
------------------------- catalyst
powergrid output 60 MW
cpu output 170 tf
-------------------------
A miner1 needs:
powergrid usage 2 MW
cpu usage 60 tf
So you could get 2 miner1's, maybe 3 with skills
-------------------------
Miner 2
fitting: powergrid usage 4 MW
cpu usage 80 tf
You can get 2 on.
In short NO, you don't want to do this. You do want to get a ship that gives a boost to mining laster yield, until you can get into a barge.
It would be a much better route. Lyden

Lets count this.
Catalyst has 170 cpu, basic miner needs 70 cpu. 8 * 70 = 560 a bit too much I'd say. With 3 co-processors you would get ~208 cpu so you could fit 3 basic miners.
Picking EP-S gaussian would let you just fit 4 at 51 cpu need per laser. Is it worthy, who knows? I aint no miner.

I haven't run many missions with my Cormorant in a while but I do find it makes for a great Miner.
Grab a buddy with a badger, warp out to a roid field... jet a can with 1 piece of ammo or whatever you dont mind losing, I personally like Solid Pyro sells for 18-21 isk a piece
The Cormorant can hold 3 miner1 lasers 3 125mm rail1s and 2-3 electronics with barely enough power grid left to run a blender for an hour
the 3 Miner1s for me bring in 438 a cycle... if you sit out there for an hour or less with a friend whos in a badger your haul alone from the destroyer set up this way is more than enough to fend off pirates and bring in a good 340k or more a run... 3 runs you'll have that destroyer paid off lol
Make no mistake though 3 125mm rail1s will get the job done on pirates giving you added bounty isk and cargo pickup from them... problem is you're not much of a match for any other players look'n to pop your can and pick a fight.
If anything if things go bad you're there to take the hits for your friend in the badger to haul the load to off then you get the heck out of there yourself.
If I said something wrong please correct me, Im but a simple 5 day old noob lol

thrahser with 5 of the best CPU-wise named mining lasers, electronics lvl 5, and 2 co-pro IIs on it.
and then i jump in my burst and mine about the same ammount... (I have minnie frig lvl 5)
the bonii on the mining frigates is better than getting all the skills and expensive modules for the destroyer.
