Yea, with the PVP flag, only reason to log in combat is to save your pod, as your ship will die once its flagged.
I didnt know your pod would stick in space for the duration of the flag as well. How long is the flag? 15 minutes like the criminal flag?

Yup. Your pod stays in space, and the flag is 15 minutes.

Everytime someone kisses you with turrets or missiles, you will be flagged for 20 minutes. If you log off during the 20 minutes, you will not disappear from EvE.
