Hi people,
just got my first set of heavy shield maintenance bot 1's and tried to use em on my gang friend to heal his er...shields :p
My only option was "engage target" and it asked if i wanna engage in a criminal act, flagged blah blah blah!!??
Can i only use em on corp mates? And if so that sux tbh.

Nah sorry, If you wanna vent ure anger, go to some place where macro miners hang around, when a NPC spawns that shot them use ure armor repping drones on that NPC so the miner's drones cant kill the NPC, thus the npc will kill the macro miner =)

Ok let me set this right as I had the same exact question when I got them.
1st off you can use the drones on any ganged member not just corp mates. You will get the warning about the criminal flag and how CP is going to come own you but they wonĘt.
He is the kickerą.
If at any time that person you are helping shield fix or armor repair with the drones does a criminal act such as shooting a non corp member or damaging a concord structure, then when Concord comes for him they will also come for you. You will be set to have aided in the criminal act and for that you must die!
So be careful and enjoy the drones, I think they are great!

The drones are bugged when returning to your ship, they move back at orbit speed :(, i think they only fixed this issue with combat drones, but forgot all about the reppers :(

Its' not just you Eccentrica... one can't target ones' self and there-fore can't use repair drones on ones' own ship.

There are 1 or two gang bugs at this time however and the careless pilot needs to be wary. Some weeks back I was fighting in a plex with a gang member from a different corp. We polished off the rats and I was using my tractor to group the cans for easy looting when a BS spawned right on top of me.
In the immediate panick, the BS auto locked and I opened fire with all my turrets, But ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
Alas my active target was one of the cans, which although was a can which i could open and take the contents, and could lock and tractor, was a dangerous target. Without any warning a loose shot from my turrets resulted in concord ganking my ship. I thought this was a bit harsh
I post this only as a cautionary tale. BEWARE

yeah I have blown up my own cans many times. I wish it would give a warrning like hey idiot your about to waste your loot can!! hehe....
And on a side note... You are correct you cant repair yourself because you cant target yourself... but... here is a trick you might like... you can target damaged combat drones! So having an armor and shield drone set to fix your combat drones can be fun. You might see it as a waste of time but its nice to go through that next gate knowing your drones are up to the task
