Sweet. That will be an impressive sight to see in the game.
It's nice to know there will be other player structures besides just guns and stations.

Oh yes... this is going to get GOOD. 
Let's just hope the deployables are available to small corps too... would make large mining ops SO much better.

and finally a reason for large battles. Instead of those corp wars you hear about where people run and hide in a station if they are attacked and then fly around in their alt character laughing at the other enemy corp members who tried to attack. Now they'll have to stand their ground.

err yes but why will corps need these HUGE mining operations other than to be targets for the likes of us?
although i think we will have some nice gankings going on once these go in ;P

The animation was very nice. It did show the player pirates to be somewhat inept. In reality, there will probably be mass ganking going on. I think the only reliable defense is to deploy these structures far, far away and maintain complete secrecy. Of course the map would give away the number of players in a system, you just have to hope that you are so far away that no one will bother with the 100+ jumps needed to kill you and destroy your structures.
One question that I wanted to field, is the ship hangar in the animation for stowing away ships that are produced by the field assembly plant unit? or does a pilot eject into an egg and stow away his ship there?

Oh boy! if this works as good as it looks, im in for life!
one thing i noticed is the defensive perimeter was set in orbit around a planet in its "planetary belt".
Does this mean the much fabled planet roid belts are coming?
Does this mean only certain planets can be used in this way?
What the hell is a distress beacon?
Can these be deployed only around planets? or can they be slapped in the middle of a normal roid belt or in the middle of nowhere?

Remember hidden asteroid belts? They have a LOT of minerals worth mining, and are virtually uncharted.
They would be prime targets for this kind of op.

Thats nice but they forgot one thing...
All the "noobs" as they call them in the video are going to and from some place. Most likely out of system. Can anybody say "Gate Camping Blockade"? I knew you could.
I can almost see the forum posts now.
"My corp was trying to build a mobile factory, but *insert pirate corp, A-hole corp or rival corp name here* they camped the gates into and out of the system so we couldnt build it or get enough defense so it got destroyed. We lost alot of work, wha wha wha...we quit!"
Let's hope this isnt the case.
