Is it true that if you get a tarantula hair in your eye it can cause serious damage, even blindness?

i dont think tarantulas are that cool...
think the portia jumping spider is the coolest spider around
it hunts other spiders... its among the smartest spiders around...
and its the size of a shirt button
it flanks the prey... it mimics the preys food... then ambush it...
its a really cool spider ____________________________________________________________

I suffer form Arachnofobia, and im also terrified of sharks, cant even watch pictures of the great white. I know someone in the community has a Shark in their banner and everytime i catch a glimt of that banner, i freeze.

I'm arachnophobic, but have a degree of control over it.
I can look at a tarantula till it moves. Then I leap 3 feet into the air and retreat while my skin crawls.

hiya Some hairs of various Tarantula species can be quite irritating as they use them as a defense by kicking them off and getttin them in your eyes is quite bad i have read. -- Diplomacy is like saying "nice doggy" until u can find a bigger rock:) |

I dont mind spiders, some of them are quite cool - wouldn't want to be stroking a tarantula mind.
What I really cannot stand is bees and wasps. I got stung when I was about 5 and have hated them ever since. Last time I had a bee in my bedroom I ran away and locked myself in the bathroom. My girlfriend was hiding under the quilt screaming also. I didn't get many macho points for that escapade.

I like them, I always wanted them when I was younger but settled for a wolf spider instead. Which grow huge if you feed them crickets anyway
Now I have some other reptile friends, so I feel rather flattered if someone names a spider after me ( unless they crush them after naming it )

A guy at college had red knees which I could just about look at. He bought a smaller grey one that was viscious as hell.
He took them home one weekend but didn't tell anyone. He left the tops of the cages, Dave never left his room all weekend, we had to go find out why he never turned up for college Monday.
By the far the worst thing I've come across is black scorpions they're so damn alien. I've had one running all over my arm, the only reason I didn't scream like a girl and go berserk is because there was another in the tub in my hand. I had visions of it landing in my face if I had panicked.

My new friend and pet project Warning, looks alien and may give nightmares
I'm actually trying to find the time to photoshop this thing with a top hat, an umbrella, bright pink background and saying something cute. I just vision it like that for some reason.
I'm odd, I know
Oh it's not actually my pet, just an image I came across

No, ticks have 8 legs and dont have paddles or compound eyes. Its more like a horseshoe crab, or sandflea, or a mix of both.
I know sandfleas get big in deepwater, several inches I think. And that thing almost looks like the tiny ones (pinkey fingernail size) you find chewing on your toes on the Oregon coast in standing pools of water.

it's a sandflea alright. Just a very large specimen.
Check this pic, and compare. Same shell-structure, same 'flaps' at the tail, same amount of legs (14! ). Also see the moustache
besides that, it's the most ******* creepy RL animal pic I've ever seen.
