I was wondering, from those that have tested them on SiSi, would the new tier 3 BCs be any good for solo mission running (lvl 3 and up).
I guess as part of a fleet they would be very useful and would be able (with a tank ship already taking agro) pack a huge punch and melt through missions.
I just wonder if they have enough tank for solo mission running?

Not solo and they don't have a drone bay and the tracking of large turrets so you find it almost impossibel to get rid of the tackler frigates , I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire |

So I guess these would be fleet only ships for mission running, shame.

WHY CANT EVERY SHIP BE GOOD FOR PVE, OMG MY MISSIONS
Seriously, you couldn't have figured out what has said in this thread by simply reading the dev blog? |

Yes but some have tried them out on SiSi, just wanted others opinions. Im not asking for every ship to be good at PvE just wondering what people thought about these ships in particular.

As for Tier 3 BCs in PvE, I'd say they have huge potential of being fun pairing-up boats for friends who are bored with running solo missions, and would like something a bit more agile, while still providing some good damage. All, at a reasonably low cost.
Perfect for the casual PvE'ers and perfect for the hardcore PvP'ers who will most likely find these ships to be of great use. Hoping to see a lot of them in the next AT. |

This is it, most who fleet up for mission want to have fun with their corpmates. And yes i'm sure we'll see a few at the next AT.

Hoping to see a lot of them in the next AT. Not sure if this is true though. Tier 3 BCs may add substantial firepower in L4 missions but when you get spawns in missions their tank is most probably insufficient to handle incoming DPS.
I haven't tried them out yet though so it may be that there's some possible speed/sig tank setup for some of them. Missioning in a fleet with a Tengu that triggers all the spawns before the BC warps in - that may work. |

Yeah maybe, im sure fits will appear as they are tested more and more before release.

Not tested but from the stats they will NOT surpass battleships.
Due to the slow tracking of large guns and the lack of a drone bay they will have issues missioning.
But they are also faster and are smaller so a short range set up may work okay for missions but don't expect them to outperform a Battle ship.
But for ratting they will be really nice, faster align time, good GTFO ability, cheaper than a BS and comparable damage. May even be fast enough to avoid some officer spwan dps if you happen to find one... I have actually Un-subbed my acounts, We need more to do, not more to wear. E-mail me when CCP has decent content a casual player can access in a 1-2h play period that is actually fun and contributes to long term goals. |

I tested the Oracle and the Naga on Sisi. They deal massive damage over 3k a volley from both however, the oracle couldnt kill elite frigs by the time they got in range, and the Naga took 9 torpedo volleys for each one with 8 siege launchers I don't think they were even elite. Now for the sad part, they both were shredded like wet paper bags with the dps of level 4 missions. The only way they could be useful is if you had a friend tanking in a regular mission ship while you tear everything else apart in no time. The damage these things put out was truly amazing. 4 volleys on any guristas battleship with the Naga and the Oracle literally mutilated Sanshas. Oh, and I tried the Oracle with pulses, beams, and tachs. |

Some people run 2 accounts to do missions, some corps run lvl 4 missions with newer players to help them get some isk and give them something to do.

I'll have a Talos for doing lv4 missions, but with friends, its perfect to support a BS with more DPS at good range, but I certainly would not solo in one.
I have tested it out on the test server, and I did throw it against what I thought was a good mix. 4 BS's, 3 cruisers and 4 elite frigates, using 425mm rails and the afterburner I was able to take the frigates at 25km but it was a chore, a real, real chore, and a lot slower than a BS. The drones make the difference.
So yeah awesome fleet ship to go help some buddies, maybe if your newer, a ship to take along to some level 4's to learn the ropes while getting your standings and cash flow up, but for solo PvE leave it at home. |

Mostly. Helpful corps will let new players tag along in these for traditional agg PvE, meaning not Sleepers, not Incursions.
Large weapons will always be a turn-off though for newer folk. There's a strong argument for having new players get solid cap and active tanking skills before T2 large weapons & related support skills. Noobs aiming to PvP will be better suited to inherently more agile ships like frigates and T1/2 cruisers, and those aiming to PvE will initially do better with either a tanky BC or a T3.
Things with this thin of a tank scream for solid skills. |

Thanks guys and gals for all the comments.
These will be great fun for fleet ops both PvP and PvE with mates, which is what Eve is about! I'm looking forward to gatting an Oracle myself and will definately be using it for fleet works. |

I tested the Naga w/ a 425mm Rail sniper fit. The range is great (200km+ without TE's using Spike L), but the damage is lowish (around 300, maybe more?) It was doable to MWD out to 200km from a stationary object, orbit and blow things up (slowly) from that range. Frigs popped easily enough from range. Hardest part was getting out of range of all the incoming DPS faster than my sheilds went down. For a mission like Pirate Invasion where basically the whole room aggro's you at once, it might be difficult.
As far as a support ship goes...if you get your gang coordinated and use tags and everyone knows what they're doing...it could be a TON of fun.
I plan on getting my corpies to fly these with me and see what kind of damage we can produce |
