I Have been playing Eve for a couple of days now, and have had a few people invite me to join their corporation, with promise of ISK and a new ship..
I Have a few questions about this:-
If i do join can i leave at any time??
What do they get out of it, especially from a newbie??
How does it basically work, do you get 'told' what to do??
Any ideas of what actually goes on inside a corp would be much appreciated... Thanks

Yes you can. I believe you just need to sign up with another corp (NPC or PC corp) to do so. I could be wrong, but I think thats the way it goes until CCP adds more corp related features. (The more experienced players can correct me on this)

Well, the promises so far are pretty much true. You can get ISK faster, you get yourself into a better ship faster. You also get lots of advice from the more experienced players. (Whether it is useful or not, that depends...) You also get security. What sort of security? Protection from NPC pirates and maybe even PC pirates. Security is a relative word here and is used very loosely. Why? Because the EvE universe is never safe. So be on your toes whenever you go out.

Ahhh... well that depends on the corp you sign up with. Do a bit of research. You can start with this forum here.

But if you really want freedom in what you can and can't do for a corp, well *shameless plug* you can always try STK Scientific *end shameless plug*

edit: Just to add, soloing this game is NOT impossible. Neither do you NEED to be in a corp to enjoy this game. So it all really depends on whether you like being in a corp or not. Find me in-game or Eve-mail me and I can probably try to help answer more of your questions. *cheers*

To quit a player corp, open the Corporation window from your NeoCom and click on the Members tab. If you right click yourself, you'll get the option to 'Quit Corporation'. After that you should be a member of your starter NPC corp again. |

you could also check out a small clan like CBS. they don't take very many. and they have some clan projects they are working on. but generally you would have lots of freedom. and advice n help.
