Me and my buddy just recently started a corp, so far getting the hang of it. Since we're new and really just focusing on mining and production, are there corps that specialize in giving a lone for corps like I'm in? And if that is such a thing is there a way I can search in game for it? Use forums? or just ask around? |

Well, first, read this post about the risks involved in founding your own corp: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4067818#post4067818
Second, it's spelled loan.
Third, it's unlikely that anyone would give you a substantial loan, after all there is no guarantee that you'll ever pay it back. There is no collateral and EVE being the den of thieves it is, anyone trusting enough to grant loans would be horribly abused. However, there are players who occasionally give out starting money - 100M is pocket change for some of the older players and if you contact them on a good day they might decide to give you a leg up.
Also, a lot of corps have hand outs for new members. E.g. a lot of mining corps will loan or even gift their members their first mining barge, as it's cheap enough to not be to big a loss when they run into a scammer. |

Thanks for the advice! Also yes loan* usually better than that. Might reconsider starting up a corp with this information. |

FYI, loans and investment are common topics in the Market Discussions forum.
Unless you have a well written business plan, and / or reputation or collateral, you will be mercilessly filleted. Read other threads there before considering posting. |

Yeah it's called bank of CCP, you get PLEX when you deposit your money, then day trade the PLEX for ISK. Later, when you have some skill and a running business, you trade ISK for your PLEX back and apply it to your account time thus getting back the money you originally spent (in a sense).

I think the short answer you're looking for is no. People will not give you money to start you're own corp - because there really isn't anything in it for them.
Joining another corp and helping fill out that corps ranks (timezones, socializing, etc) does help a corp out and they are more likely to throw some isk your way.
Asking people for isk is generally a way to get on their bad side. Especially if you're on a trial account as asking for help plexing your account. |

Trial accounts can form their own corporations?
Anyway... as a mining corp, your best bet isn't the handout but the hookup. Make some friends who need minerals, basically, and offer them some sweet deals on discount ore. Despite the number of sociopaths out there, your typical business type (read: other miners/industrials like yourself) are very big on honoring deals & debts. Meaning do your handshaking with other companies like your own instead of pirate corps or the like.
The easiest way to make some easy ISK very early in the game is to:
1) Make a friend who runs L4 missions a lot. 2) Fit a destroyer with eight salvager modules. 3) Offer to tag along and sweep up after them.
You'll get a share of the bounties, a share of the mission, and a share of the loot. As I said, this implies that the person like you. But it illustrates the point - it's a hookup, but not a handout. You're doing something for your ISK, even if the amount your making is far more than the service is really worth.

Perhaps CCP could create loaner contracts....
I am not sure how it could be done though. |

People in every MMO I've ever played hate beggars. In most games, people hating you is no big deal. In this one, it is. People in this game generally don't like noobs running corps, so you've probably already have made your corp a war target, and are not off to a good start.
Anyway...here's how you get your start up capital:
1) Fly to Jita or any other trade hub 2) Log out 3) Log into EVE website 4) Go to "account management" 5) Buy one or more PLEX 6) Log back into game 7) Redeem PLEX to character in trade hub 8) Put PLEX on the market for a few ISK cheaper than current cheapest one
Very soon you'll have your ISK. |

Yeah I can give you a couple billion isk as a loan, just as soon as that other newbie corp I lent to a few years ago pays me back. It's been quite a while so I expect to be paid any time now... |

As a somewhat older player (and coincidentally, a corp CEO) I do not understand why you would require a loan, while you focus on mining and production. Aren't those activities making you ISK in the first place?
Eve can be compared to a feudal system of politics. You will find it usually works the other way around, with strong PVP entities expecting some sort of tribute from their vassals. That can be as clear-cut as 'renting' a nullsec system from an owning Alliance, or a more subtle understanding like a Standings agreement intended to allow free travel and PI tax reductions. |

This made me wonder too.
What do you need the loan for.
I can only think of 2 reasons:
A. To hire a corp office somewhere. But if you are into mining you should search for low activity systems and this usually equals low office renting bills B. To kick start a ore/mineral buy back funding. But this can be done with low ISK and then slowly grow.
Edit:
C. Buying corporate blueprints is another possibility. Want to have some chat in game? Need help to get into the game as a new player? Just join my channel: Crazy Dutch Guy |
