Alright, why in heck can't containers inside a corporate hangar array be opened, accessed, and used? Its the most inconvenient thing ever and provides no game balance beyond irritation - please fix.

It has worked for us. Check your Corp Hangar Roles. ------------------------------------------ Gozetec2002 CEO Messerschmitt Shipyards

Edited by: Ryoutou on 23/03/2006 00:54:04 You are saying that when you open a secure container inside your hangar array, you can drag something from your cargo hold directly into it you do not get the message:
"The Secure Cargo Container is not in space nearby and its not in your cargo hold. Because of this you cannot do whatever it is you were trying."
?
This is a director toon, the corp roles are fine, and this is from 0m away from the corp hangar array, no password on the container, etc. Hope you are understanding what Im talkin about.

If it can, its a bug.
Reason being, gaint secure container, takes up 3000 m3 but stores 3900 m3. If you could put containers in a corporte hagner array, you'd be increasing the size without it consting anythign.

I'm not sure what sort of masochist would stack their array full of dozens of cans to eek out a little extra space vs anchoring another array? Anyway.
Secure cans, normal cans, whatever - I'm talking about being able to use CANS. Inside an array. Without juggling it out to your cargo hold to shift something to it. Roles have nothing to do with it, etc.
Its an issue along the lines of the one where you can can't repackage items in the array or in your cargo in space, so you wind up with a slew of crap thats a PITA. Then you have people stacking cans in space to work around it, then you get lag.

Yes, as it stands there is no way to use a can that's inside the Corporate Hangar Array. The juggle to cargo hold is one trick but is very annoying. As it stands there is no way an individual can store their stuff in the corporation's hangar arrays, it would just get mixed in with other people's stuff. A number of people I know have just started anchoring giant secure cans ALL OVER the outside of their POS. I've had eve CRASH once when warping to their POS.

I don't think that is the reason, after all everyone uses GSC in mineral hauling indies to increase cargo.
Can we get confirmation in here? The ISS guy claims he can open SC's in a CHA. I know I can't. Anyone else? Is this a bug or design?

maybe i'm being dumb and not understanding the question (forgive me im a noob), but my copr uses a system where eveyone names a vault after their character and places is in the hangar. Seems to work fine using these:

We are talking about placing Giant Secure Containers in Corp Hanger Arrays which are Player Owned Starbase Modules / Starbase Structures.
What is driving us all potty is that we once place the containers inside our Corp Hanger Arrays we can't open them again unless we move them back out to a ships cargo bay first If you use a Giant SC that means getting a industrial.
The annoying thing is that some folks seem to report that they can open SC's in Corp Hanger Arrays whilst some folks report that they can't.

I'm assuming that (other than power/cpu requirements) there's nothing to prevent you having multiple corp hangars at a single pos, but it does seem strange that giant containers can't be used (or have a POS equivalent of station containers). Our pos has the following
* All - Low Slot * All - Mid Slot * All - High Slot * All - Misc * Directors - Modules * Directors - Misc * Refining
And we could really do with being able to at least split the directors modules into personal compartments or low/medium/high slottage.
I don't consider anchoring secure containers within the shield to be an option either - it's hard enough to get into warp with all the other stuff without adding loads of small fixed containers as well.
Come on, give us some way of doing this!

There is a clear problem with CHA and SC. Anyway, it is really a matter of roles if you can't open a can in a CHA. But even if you could open it, you would not be able to drag stuff from it directly to your cargohold. And that's the problem. When you have a giant can and you want to take stuff in it while flying a frigate, forget it. You would have to switch to a bigger ship to get the can, unload the stuff you need in your cargohold, jettison it, put the can back in the CHA, switch ship again and take the stuff from the floating cargo. That's really annoying.
