Stuck, Exploit, Account, Harrassment, Mission in Progress petitions are checked and answered really quick.
Ship replacements might take a few weeks because there is a giant petition queue atm. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

Last I heard the queue was 3700+ petitions, means it might take some time.

Even after the queue was nuked, and people asked to resubmit?
I wonder how many of those are signal, and how much is noise.
I have a gut feeling that the majority of those petitions shouldn't exist.

God, I feel for em. That's some serious workload.
And in all likelyhood indeed a lot of stuff in there that really shouldn't be. But that's how it is. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

Please see my reply to Breathing Helps' thread here.

Good analogy, Avon. Even if 90% of the petitions are 'noise', each one has to be looked at and responded to. There is no way to filter out the noise and leave just the signal behind.
If you have submitted any petitions, please review them. If your petition was answered by a recent change, or you have duplicate petitions, please close them out. This will help the GM team immensely, resulting in less filtering the GMs have to do and a decrease in overall response time.

I think CCP customer support is top notch.
I have to wonder if those making whiny post are just (1)young, (2)imature, and (3)impatient. Not as if the first two are bad, but the third is.
I had issues that took well over 3 weeks to be resolved, but it was done during a time they were overloaded, much as they are now.
learn patience, it helps with all things in life (and while waiting, go kill something)...

Kieron:
Just a thought, but maybe it'd be a good idea on a support page somewhere to have an indicator of the current load on the CS folks, with maybe an ETA on the average turnaround time for the various kinds of petitions?
Doesn't have to be fancy or even updated daily, just someplace that people could see what the situation is.

What about prioritizing petitions so that each character/account can only have one petition in the queue at once? So that if someone submits 20 petitions only the first is actually in the queue and the next one isn't submitted until the first is resolved or cancelled. It eliminates some of the clutter caused by redundant petitions, but does penalize people with more than one legitimate issue.

Very good idea, Crag naCron. Actually, it's surprising if there isn't such a system in place already with the petition volumes CCP get.

I've not had any real issues with the CS folks and petitions, most of the time people petition for things they know they won't get back (ships lost to something they did but insist it was a bug) maybe people should all think really hard about the petitions they post as most of the time i just don't bother because its always the same response anyways :) i.e my fault
People like to compare EVE CS to other games like WoW where they don't have as many players at the same time so theres less of a queue, personally i think they do a great job considering they have to deal with up to 25,000 players all playing on the same server getting stuck etc, they will get to it as soon as they can and the best thing to do is have some patience :)

I would like to see a top 10 of funny or outrageous (from a ccp perspective) petitions. I'm sure it would be a laugh.

of course, if we had a fully documented eve manual that explained how everything is supposed to work I'm sure 1/2 the petitions wouldn't be in there :)

I'm a bit confused here, is this implying that people file petitions to ask about game mechanics!?
If so, that is really really bad, and wasting resources. There are much better ways to find information about undocumented features - including the forums, Help channel, and the ISD division STAR. Should the petition queue really contain questions about "how does this work?" at all?.
If it's implying that people make mistakes because they don't understand the game mechanics then file for clarification that's another matter, but like I say little confusing statement. Eve Fitting Manager

The problem is, a lot of people assume something is a bug even if it isn't. As there is no centralized (or even distributed) way of knowing if something is working as intended, people will file a petition just to give it a try (and I know many people who have done this and then gotten upset when the reponce was "sorry, but this is how it works").
you also get a lot of idiots file petitions because they don't like the new content and think that it will get a dev's attention or they just want to sound off.
