Situation:
On one side there¦s a Falcon that has the ability to get up close, scramble and jam the opponent, and is fitted with two heavy launcher T2¦s. It has Fury heavies in the hold.
The other side is a T2 Sniper Tempest with a modest tank.
Can the Falcon take out the Tempest, assuming a permanent jam, and no friends on either side?
If the answer is ¦no¦, is there something the Falcon can place in that one gun hardpoint to make it a ¦yes¦? An Ion Blaster perhaps?

load hope in the first launcher, and prayers to the devs in the second?
They could eventually wreck for insane damage, but the DoT is very very small.
edit: Thers a reason it jams so well = low dmg = balance!

If the falcon pilot can fly a falcon, he can fly a rook, which is far better at bs 1v1, having 5 launchers not 2, and being better at jamming the tempest permanently. Use that instead.

Ah yes, and how will the rook close the distance to said T2 Sniper BS without getting blown to smithereens in the process? By jamming it? What sniper BS would sit and be jammed long enough to get scrambled and shot at?

You can fit a cloak on the rook aswell, yes you cant warp cloaked like falcon but you can lie in wait cloaked at a belt and wait for BS to turn up

These people don¦t show up in belts. Also, we¦re talking a sniper BS that can show up within a sphere of 100km of any said warp object. Where will I lie in wait? And if I am far off, how long will it take me to get there with an improved cloak?
All I want to know is: Can it be done in the situation I described, with the ship I mentioned?

Most snipers don't have a tank, so sure. If they have a "tank", its most likely a single medium rep, or even a small (I think you need AWU5 to fit 6x 1400mm II and a medium rep).

i would say NO -
Falcon dont have mucho firepower even with T2 weps
However - Working in pairs = possibly
3,s = probably

When he doesn't travel in a group, most likely he will have 1 Large T2 shieldbooster, either that or a med rep.

Just get a covops mate, or an interdictor to pull him to where you want him to be when he warps in. If he is fitting even one repairer you will not kill him in a solo falcon.

I don't normally post on a tangent, and I know you are specifically asking about working solo.
However, I feel the need to say that if you did have a parner ship on this venture, an Amarr Pilgram would be an ideal wingman.
Patch day always brings out the same 2 types of people.
1: "I'm an IT expert in RL, and they have done this all wrong" type.
2: "I'm a paying customer, fix it immediately or I quit" type. |
