Instead of 5 different subsystems for each of 5 slots for 4 races, why not just have 5 subsystems for each slot that are universal and give different effects when plugged into different races teir 3's.
25 total subsystems instead of 100. |

Because that would overcomplicate things? Some have options not available to others, they all do different things, and they're all bloody labelled with which ship they go on... |

The effects when plugged into the ship are the same, as stated above. The system would do a different thing in a different ship. Just having 25 not 100 in total. |

So you'd change every single name? How would anyone know what a particular subsystem did in the ship they want it for, or would you put four lots of show info blurb onto each one?
if I take the armour system out of my proteus and plug it into my tengu, what happens? And if I then take it out of the tengu and put it into the loki? (Keep in mind that the loki has both armour and shield systems)
And what about the systems that do completely different things? There's no HAM system for a Proteus like there is for a Legion, and there's no projectile system for a Tengu...This would get really overcomplicated really fast. |

I don't understand the reason this would be needed.
1) How would this affect subsystem skills? Would you only get level 5 bonuses from a subsystem in a Tengu if you only trained Caldari subsystems? Or would you suggest that we combine the subsystem skills and reimburse SP's? If so, wouldn't this just make training for all T3's faster, despite the fact that universal ships skills (i.e. battlecruisers, destroyers) have be broken up into racial variants? I don't think anyone (either CCP or the playerbase) would go for that.
2) Why would this be required? If you have 5 prop subsystems that each do one thing in a Tengu and another in a Loki, how is that different from having 5 subsystems for each? You still have 10 variations in the game.
I see no reason for this, it doesn't do anything. And it's fairly clear if a subsystem goes on a loki or not, because it's labeled as a Loki defensive subsystem or a Tengu defensive subsystem.
Sorry, but nope, -1. |

I did not make any proposal to change skills, only the total number of subsystems in the game; not the total number available to each ship. |

I'm asking you:
1) How will removing subsystems from the game affect subsystem specific skills (since it has to).
2) How having 25 subsystems that each do 4 things (depending on what ship they're in) is different from having 100 individual subsystems (besides making the code for each more complicated).
3) Why is this needed? It's not simplifying anything. |

id say leave them alone till ccp gets to tech 3 rebalanceing. the current word on the grapevine is they may be removeing rigs from tech 3s and buffing sub systems/balanceing them so you can truly and easly refit a t3 in space with out the worry of rigs. _______________________ http://i.imgur.com/d9Ee2ik.jpg

Why do we even need to mess about with this? The end result is exactly the same and so there's not even a point to touching it. |
