Mohrg	Posted - 2006.03.23 10:59:00 - [1] I am currently using a free trial account, and have decided to buy the full game, so i went out and purchased a full copy, now when trying to upgrade the account it won't let me use the CD key from the box and wants to charge me for one. Is there any way to use the code i have as i don't want to pay again.
Galakak	Posted - 2006.03.23 11:03:00 - [2] hi there, i'm not sure if you can use the cd-key but you can set-up a new account and transfer your trial char to the new one, on the other hand i have no idea how to do this either i'm still a noob myself ;) I'm sure someone else has more info on the matter for you
Dark Shikari	Posted - 2006.03.23 11:04:00 - [3] The CD on the box isn't an account upgrade key. However, CCP is nice enough to let you use it as one, though through a workaround. Create a new account with the key, and then petition for a free character transfer. They'll move your char, and that'll be it. I think they're trying to discourage people from paying a mere 5 dollars for the game though [23] Member: Official Forum Warrior What's with the blue robots? Click my sig.

Correct. The problem lies with the fact that there's a few copies of EVE as a boxed game still floating around in shops here and there, long after CCP stopped selling it that way. A lot of these old copies of EVE are in bargain bins and the like, hence the ú5 comment from a previous poster
