Good to know; incidentally, utilizing unintended effects of game code to one's advantage rather than report them might be seen as exploiting, and rewarded with account ban...

What if I didnt know its an exploit? Would I still get banned? Who defines that did I know or not?

If anything they should just remove the stupid painter bonus from the vigil and put the speed bonus back in to the description. I noticed this right after RMR but never even thought about reporting it as I consider that speed bonus the rightful Vigil bonus regardless of whether it is in the description or not. Not like anyone gets hurt by me hauling 20% faster...

Seriously, calm down. It's a tiny bit faster than it should be, that doesn't make it some kind of super weapon.
On the hidden bonus bit, whether it should have it or not isn't the point; it was removed in the Mk2 project.
I would have done the same thing if it was the Executioner instead of the Vigil. Talking about it is not the same as shouting about "secret" ship setups, trade routes, good hunting grounds, market pricing, et cetera.

Well, if you suspect something you do ain't exactly the way it was intended, you can open a petition and ask GM to confirm all is fine. Other than that, it more or less depends how widespread the usage is -- if there's official in-game news how using so-and-so because it's broken, then there isn't much room left to claim ignorance. On the other hand as far as i can tell the first time one is spotted/reported for using some particular exploit, they're told to not do it again and that's it. If they keep abusing it after that... then it's another matter. ^^;;

Ah ok, I seem to spot these little overpowered items, because I love eve math. I just keep them as my little secrets, then one beatifull morning someone finds out the same thing and petitions it.

So as long as its not been published as to be exploit, its basically isnt such? Nobody can really prove that I have intentionally used some loops in the game mechanics, because I can allways say "I thought it was build that way..."

I have no pity whatsover for Vigil pilots
After the Caldari and Minmatar petitioned on the forums to have the Inquistor's 50% rate of fire bonus and the Punisher's 50% cap regen bonus set back to what was stated in the ship description (and was implemented almost overnight by the devs), just be happy you had your speed advantage for as long as you did.

well at least we still got teh Firetail. Its speed bonus is legal, however its a bit slower than Vigil anyways (mass issues), and it's a bit more expensive too.
