Here is my idea:
every time you run a manufacture job, research, invention, PI production, etc you get some kind of industry standing/ industry points system like RP.
Each time your industry standing/points reaches a certain level you are offered a mission (like the standard 16th mission storyline ones). These missions are to research/manufacture/produce PI etc depending on the task you just completed. The missions are to produce goods for the empires to produce new star gates.
Your reward is an amount of one use gate passes based on the level of mission. These will be useable to pass through empire owned gates into the newly discovered and unexplored regions.
This would produce a deeper experience for the industry folks than 'fetch x of tritanium' or 'Deliver the special cargo'. It would also give lone producers and small corps a means to explore the new regions that would otherwise be dominated and exploited but the large alliances.
A by-product would be potentially drawing more industry folks into exploration, much more rounded industry aspect to the game, and a new trade in gate passes :) (also an isk sink as they are one use, so each trip takes 2 tags, one each way.

Another idea, this could lead to live events where players with enough tags get to accompany and provide security for the initial seed gantry as it is fired into the new system to Create the anchoring gate |

I like the core idea (special science and industry missions).
Sadly, I doubt it will happen because of the domination and exploitation of the large alliances. But, you have a "thumbs up" from me, whatever that's worth. |

Although I am not doing it I would approve all changes that can be done in science, industry and pve. That is mainly the first thing new players do and for example the pve system is absolutely out of date. As new player I was bored with it after a month. Indstrial missions are quite yet when I remember it right the mining missions like "go there and farm this rock". Very entertaining CCP^^ Yes it really needs a change. But actually new players can do completely out of date boring missions and... exploration where they will get ganked by veterans to hell. Great^^ But yes eve doens-Št need more new players. Just give the 4000 veterans with 20k subsciptions online more toys like mobile structures. Maybe the 4000 veterans will have 30k subscriptions soon^^
I am not doing it but damn highsec pve, industry and science needs an OVERHAUL. Give new players maybe more start skillpoints and really really really: We need something like superhighsec where only less than 2 week toons have entrance to learn the game and where no damn pvp (ganking= mostly harassing new players or pve noobs) is happening. Don-Št know how many of these new players leeroy around and go into lowsec the first day to get ganked several times on the same gate in a gatecamp.
