Actually, after quite a long debate with a few of my friends who happen to be film majors, we have come to the conclusion that the best movie ever made is in fact Forest Gump.
Not my favorite movie, but it is arguably the best example of film making brilliance.
It's not a war movie, it's not an underdog story, it's not a historical drama, it's not a sports film, it's not a romance or an epic love story, it's not a comedy. It is, in fact, all of these things combined, and pulls every single one of them off brilliantly. It is simply a beautiful example of the film making art.

LoTR 1-2-3. Batman Begins. A Bronx Tale. Goodfellas. Godfather 1-2-3. Scarface. Heat. The Matador. Boondock Saints. Rogueforce.
Sooo many good movies, but if i had to chose 1, it would be "A Bronx Tale".
Current Location: After chasing TomB for 2 years, at the pub, getting a cold beer.

Even though I hate to suggest it and the dialog was a little over the top, I think Titanic is a worthy contender. Great storytelling and effects.

Boondock Saints Office Space
Those are the only two movies necessary for survival. The BTTF trio is nice, but not nearly as important. ----- Signature file size to big, please keep it under 24000 bytes - Petwraith Randosig~! =o |

To the OP, sounds like something urgent to you but not not so much the rest of the planet, still going to stick with some americana with Office Space, alternatic eternal Oscar goes to Big Lebowski.
Remind me about The Maze.

hhhmm.difficult one tbh, got alot of favoutite films , but i'm gna go for: Slingblade (billy bob thornton at his best), sphagetti western trilogy (fistful of dollars, few dollars more, good & the bad & the ugly), the orginal starwars trilogy, from dusk till dawn, hero, crouching tiger hidden dragon, team america and south park movie, goodfellas, donnie brasco, apocalyspe now, full metal jacket, heat, mad max II, leon, pulp fiction. **** i cud go on and on, thats what you get for working in TV post production. getting paid to sit about watching films lol. anyways theres some of my favourites, tho for those who haven't seen slingblade, watch it if you can find it, best film i've seen in a while.
