yesterday, thursday, right after downtime i went to a system on the amarr empire, where i know there is a lot of kernite, in fact, there is a lot of fiery kernite.
it is a well known legend that kernite and other ores respawn on tuesdays and thursdays. well, yesterday, after downtime, there was nothing. well, there was some veldspar, but nothing about kernite.
so i just want if someone can tell me why. is because kernite doesnt respawn tuesdays and thursdays? is it because it was a bug? does it matter how much kernite was mined during tuesday and wednesday?

they respawn once a week. Ever since the last issues with the patch the day now seems to be Fridays instead of Thursdays.

I remember in Gaha, kernite spawned on a friday. I think it may just be random? Maybe? So whole belts don't respawn at the same time? Just certain ore types?

Yeah, at least for Omber it now seems to be Mondays and Fridays.... Which does make a bit more sense. Not sure about Kernite, though.

I also heard of the monday/friday rumour about omber ore. Asteroid respawn or "growth" is still an interesting and quite confusing topic for me :)
Seems like they grow over time with each DT they're not mined and visually get bigger the more ore they contain also. |

This is true, HOWEVER, do not let someone fool you into thinking that popping roids is bad. I've seen several research projects in which people tested whether or not you got more ore by mining them down almost all the way and letting them grow back, or by just popping them. Seems that by popping them, they come back with more than if you had just let them grow back. So pop away!

personally I think there should be more respawns. Because when I get home from work on fridays, all the kernite seems to be gone from my neighbourhood

Kernite spawns in your neighbbourhood? I thought it was limited to EVE. Shows what I know.

INTERIOR. HARDWARE STORE - DAY
MINERATOR (V.O.) ...the Miner One...
WIDE as the CLERK, who looks like a sick lizard, pallid and paunchy, takes the laser from a wall rack. He lays it beside the arsenal of perfectly legal anti-ore artillery already on the glass counter. Minerator scans expressionlessly for additional selections.
CLERK Anything else?
MINERATOR An EP-R Argon Ion Basic Excavation Pulsed laser in the forty watt range...
CLERK (annoyed) Just what you see, pal.
He indicates the display case and wall racks with a minimal gesture.
MINERATOR The Miner 2.
CLERK (setting it out) You know your mining lasers, buddy.
CLERK (continuing) Any one of them's ideal for ore offense. Which'll it be?
MINERATOR All.
