Might have already answered this but I just woke up..
As people who take out loans repay them on time, will their credit build and thus allow them to take out more money? It seems you have a 5m max credit limit right now... tbh, if I blink right I can make 5m. But I would take out 5m loans and pay them back if I could take out loans of a few hundred mil in the end.

I would like just to test the RL credit organization schemes in EVE. They do give credits and some of course don't come back (and even in RL you won't have too much efficient means to get it back, to be honest). This risk is included into interest rates for the credit organization to be profitable.
Since this is the first time (as far as I'm concerned) this idea comes to life in EVE, I don't have any data to get all the numbers right. Therefore I have set a rather high interest rate with a very low credit limit to get the feeling of the market.
I do intend to raise the credit limits when I will know how to judge the credibility of a person correctly. I also hope to build a credit history database so that person with good credit history will of couse get high bonuses.
Only time will show wether it's working or not. But it's fun to try!

Only if they build up a good credit history and then run with a 1bil unpaid credit... Otherwise it's just unprofitable.
However, it would be nice and fun to hire someone to hunt down bad debitors. Thanks for the idea!

1% daily is pretty steep. I wouldn't borrow large capitals (only type i'm interested in at my point in the game) at such rate, but that's just me.
maybe consider cumulative fees as time goes on ? or contracts for a set time, involving fines if the client is late with paying back the loan?
I really like your idea though.
