Everyone wants more people in nul to fight with but fewer blobs.
Set a hard-cap limit of alliance size . . . say 500 or 1,000.
# of other alliances an alliance can blue = ZERO # of non-alliance corps the alliance can blue = ZERO
Smaller, better fights and alliances will police their slots more to make sure to get full participation from their corps. Character slots in corps and corp slots in alliances become more valuable and people will work harder to maintain them and make sure they are active.
The successful alliances will make full use of their slots/participation and arrange team tactics around it.
More alliances would form and more would move to Nul.
I am not trolling and not an expert on nul sov mechanics. It just seems like since the game can not and likely will not be able to handle these massive fleet battles than the very mechanics enabling these fights should be retired. |

This is an incredibly dumb idea. Even without alliance size as a limiting factor, supercoalitions of multiple alliances were formed. Removing the tools of diplomacy (standings and colortags) won't stop diplomacy, just make existing gameplay more difficult and painful. "CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"
Never forget. |

how baout when a ship dies it explodes and sents out an aoe relative to its sig radius and the damage is equal to its hull HP, that way people will be too scared to BLOB. _______________________ http://i.imgur.com/d9Ee2ik.jpg

part of the answer is too restrict movement of BLOBS i.e. less jump bridges allowing movement from one end of 0.0 to the other so damn fast.
Then ofc giving small corps/small alliances meaningful gameplay and ability too hold space thats useful so they don't have too join the big alliances just too get in 0.0 in the first place.
i.e. if they can do things without big alliances and coalitions then they probably wouldn't be in such big fleet fights in the first place ... if it were made disadvantageous for 7000 people alliances to be so large then they would stop being so large and decrease in size to the size that is useful..
more gameplay for small gangs and less mobility for caps/bridging ships/fleets along with making all space useful and worth using would encourage people to spread out and they would naturally form smaller groups as a result
Tech 3's need to be multi role ships not cruiser hulls with battleship tank and insane resists ABC's are clearly T2 in all but name.. remove drone assist mechanic. Nerf web strength ..... module tiercide FTW role based instead of tiers please. |

A hard cap on blue lists would be an inconvenience, but it would not prevent coalitions from forming. I had an alt in a NRDS alliance years ago that actually did run into a hard cap on its red list; they set up a "kill on sight" database linked to a website in response and their pilots used it to quickly look up unknown neutrals. CFC and N3 would have something similar for blues up in days. |

you do know there are loads of colors, right? Bringing a merc or regular crew in for a few ops, you don't have to officially blue them. diplo's set a color to have them not red, not grey, not "official" blue and have nice day.
Or leave them grey, that works too. Had a few ops with non blue crews where we hooked up with them, FC siad loud and clear in comms there are no neuts here, we are getting these peeps in fleet. Just in case ov bugs out the corp is XYX corp. Because ,you see, when OV bugs out many times I have seen everyone turn grey. Even fleet/alliance/corp mates turn grey. How do you pick targets in this mess? Run down the list of known corps in the enemy crew or follow fc primary calls and hope he calls them well.
