i intend to train leadership, skirmish warfare, armoured warfare, siege warfare and info warfare but those skills give only 2% boost to their according ship performance per lvl. are those 2 % worth the hassle and does my gang and i benefit from that or is it less useful ?
what do u recomend ?

I thought they were useful...
it comes down to personal opinion, best bet take them to lvl 3(only takes a couple days total), see if you like the improvement, then decide if you want to go further ----------- /wtb Eris in a cage Sorry, she's not for sale. You can get Imaran for free though - Wrangler can I at least get someone decent? Sure, I'll let you know when I find one - Wrangler |

You can always go for the gang assist modules on battlecruisers or command ships, then they start to become really usefull. .....

The skills are useful if you are in a gang. The trouble is, most people expect other gang member to have some :) --- Slot 10 Akemons Modified 'Noble'Zet 5000 implant +8% Armour FREE |

The added 10% to speed, agility, armor and shields for the whole gang means you will have to join all your corps opperations from that point on. (Oh, yeah and the carebear mining one everyone keeps forgetting about)
If you have a command ship with gang modules you will not be alowed to sleep other then during downtimes.
In other words train these skills and become very useful to your corp. The only problem is unless you are in a gang you could just as well not have trained a single thing for about two months...

What about two accounts...
I plan on haveing 1 pure fighter character with my "leadership" alt orbiting him or tailing him from behind w/ leaderstip skills and other electronic warefare skills.
Or is that just a waste of time?
I have seen the Arctic Circle... And it is round. |

For me i trained the armour one up to level 4 recently since i mostly armour tank, i will probibly go all the way to 5, but the extra 2% doesnt really seem worth it unless you intend to fly the T2 battlecruisers or a carrier.. (which hopefully i will in a year or two...) the others im just leaving at level 4.

Don't listen to this guy. Any corporation who doesn't have someone with a trained Battlecruiser with gang assist modules is a fool.

Also, leadership skills are required to fly some of the cooler ships.
Bigger ship, capital ships, too, right?
If you like gangs, your m8s will be happy for the extra boosts given. Like a previous poster said, only a couple of days to train them all to level 3. What's to hurt here?

i am thinking of grabbing all the gang skills. but i am just wondering.. does it mean if someone else has a higher say siege.. but i have a higher information..
the bonus is taken from each highest player in that particular skill??
and only ships within the same area of this player (not just included into the gang )gets the benefit of whatever gang skills

The mining foreman skill is a god send! you really do notice the improvements!
the gang skill that give speed is darn good too, generally are all good for when your mining in a group, as you can mine more, lock the rats faster, tank a little longer, and move faster
its all good until someone with better skills joins your gang

imo its worth it since u get the bonus all the time not only in gang...and if u join a gang ull get just the better bonus, but still have ur own trained skills in case gang disbands

Perhaps I am misunderstanding your comment, but it sounds like you think you get the bonus when not in a gang. That would be an incorrect assumption.

Yeah, Duncan's took the same interpretation I got.
If you're not in a gang AND you don't have at least one other gang member in the same system, you get ZERO benefit from the gang skills.
You must be in a gang and have at least one member of that gang in the same system to get any benefit from a gang skill. Then it's a case of who has the highest level in that respective skill as to what bonus you get.
Personally, I have two of my characters with some of the gang skills to level 5. One has all but one of them to 5, and people in corp really do notice when I join a gang with everyone's shields and armor rising by 10%!

Get urselves an alt, form a gang and enjoy those extra percentages.
I now get 6% extra yield on mining just cuz i gang my alt and let him sit outside station... not to mention extra shield, armor and so on... Oh i also use him for hauling me ore offcourse

yeah, just to put this into perspective... if you've got a navy mega with a plate on and a full slave implant set, you'd be going from close to 21k armour to more than 23k armour, just by having someone join your gang. then if that person has the armoured warfare links on their Fleet command ship... your resistances, and rep time will go up accordingly meaning that that navy mega will most likely be able to tank a heft fleet for a couple of minutes... with no difficulty.
