Buy a good Secure Cargo Container. and put a pass word on it so no one can get in. not that it will stop them from picking it up but at least they can't get whats inside. (\_/) (O.o) (> <) Teh Uber Asheron's Call Bunny Booty WTFPWNZ you!! |

Edited by: Darius Shakor on 12/09/2003 13:17:37 Best thing to do is to only put as much ore in the container as you know your indy can carry before you collect it. Do not mine for hours and collect about 100k of ore or you might lose it all. At least this way you lose no more than one indy full of ore if it gets stolen.
And, as I have said before, secure containers are useless for this kind of mining as they hold less ore than a stabber or vexor with basic cargo mods. ------

Budge, I understand your frustration. Security containers are a lifesaver in situations like that. If you have anybody in your corp that can fly a bestower (or any other indy,) those are wonderful too. It's not glamorous, but the bestower pilot can just stay by you as you mine, taking everything that you jettison. Also, handle the situation with aggression. Have groups of people grab a relatively cheap frigate and chase ore theives down. They do get tired of it and leave, usually after a short while. I believe j3tt grabbed 14k omber before I chased him off...not a crippling loss at all.

Look, im kinda getting sick of people getting fustrated about thiefs, it's part of the game and guess what a part of life aswell. You must get over it. I see people whinning and whinning till it seems there is no limit. I know you must think that know im whinning that your whinning but the fact is, if you spend your time writing and getting fustrated with a game where you expect that one of those thousands of people to be a thief i dont want to meet you in real life. And believe it or not, all of these thiefs are giving you a reality check and what you need to do is adapt to it and deal with it!
stay cool I whish you the best in the future

And I'm getting even more sick and tired of the endless correlation between the game and real life. How someone behaves in the game doesn't necessarily make them the same in real life.
But since we're beating this dead horse religiously, and since people somehow crave reality in a fantasy world, let's put a little bit of reality into perspective. In reality, if you steal someone elses belongings, you are breaking the law. You could be prosecuted for it too. So it could be easily said that stealing something in real life isn't without consequences. If reality and the world of EVE are so closely intertwined, should it not also be the same way in the game? Why shouldn't there be police intervention (CONCORD, DED, Naval, etc..) in these cases?
If you're going to make the connection between a fantasy game and real life, then perhaps it should be made 100%. Making a half-assed connection between the two that is only enough to justify the action and not the consequences that are inherent TO the action in question is without basis or reason.

Dont mine alone. Mine with friends/Corp mates, whatever. A couple of miners + a industrial standing by to take all ore from can to cargo hold makes ore thiefs frustrated. Have the indy use instant bookmarks between station and can in belt to avoid wasting time as well.
Good luck
