Is this possible? Can the code be re purposed for drones? I mean.. sentry drones aren't really drones in the first place. I would think they are mobile sentry guns.
Actually, if you think aboout it, mobile deployables are not all that different from drones. They exist in space, thaey have automated targeting logic.. They are just anchored in space.
So why not group them in the UI? Drones get launched for self and use "anchor" for a point of reference. If thry target a ship, they anchor on the ship (as a group), with a lock time being their anchor time. Sentries anchor as a fixed point.
One side effect of this way of thinking: deployables can now be manually directed on target.

no. but granted there already is something slightly like it. POS guns! now if we could get those but with out the need for a pos it could make things... Interesting...

A deployable turret would be cool. I would have to guess that balancing / server load are the hold ups? |
