I am still basically new in EVE, and I was wondering what the quickest way to earn ISK would be. Thanks.

Caracal or Blackbird with 4-5 warp disruptors and a sensorbooster camping in a good uncrowded, high-traffic chokepoint system in 0.0
When a hauler comes through kill it and take the loot to empire and sell.
Best advise I've got.

How can I skill up to get to lvl 3 missions. It has taken a lot just to get to some lvl 2 agents, and there are still some lvl 2 agents that won't talk to me.

Train the skills SOCIAL and CONNECTIONS to speed up your advancement and stick with agents who work for the same faction.

Yes, you don't want it to be crowded on beforehand or else everyone will see you and evade you.
But the number of jumps per hour must be enough so that you can be bothered to camp there.
... if 3000 people stay in a system but nobody jumps into it or out of it for 6hours that would make that system LOW TRAFFIC, get it? :D

For a new player, rat in .1 space. I can easily make 1 mil isk + decent loot (sometimes very good)in an hour and you don't have to worry about 0 space.

Hmm...
Make 1m/hour in 0.1, or make 20m an hour in 0.0...
The best thing you can probably do with your level of skillpoints is get an osprey or scythe and go mine omber, kernite etc in high sec.
Although you'll find this quite difficult to do these days, when i started we didnt have ore thieves, or 20k players on a sunday.

Level 3 Kill missions earns you around 2Mil ISK/hour. Find someone you are relatively comfortable playing with, and take on the first L3 together - a good BC tank can solo all L3 missions, but the first time is scary alone ...
It does take some patience building up your standings to access Level 3 though.

Except if you fly an AF or similar - then you don't need to worry (much) about other frigs and ceptors at the gate, nor bubbles, and if you have instas a sniping BS won't stand much chance against you on either side.
If you can keep away from the warp in point while ratting (drag the rats away if they're close) you've got a fair chance, covert ops could hurt but best defence against that is to move around a lot, rat one belt and move to a new system.

Edited by: Gungankllr on 28/03/2006 09:15:23 The fastest, lowest risk endeavor to make isk in Eve is missions at the moment.
Find a faction you want to work for (Caldari navy is a Favorite)
And pick security, internal security or command.
Level 1 missions are good in a basic frigate, with low skills.
Level 2 missions are good in a frigate with better skills, or cruiser with lower skills.
Level 3 missions are good in a cruiser with better skills and/or tactics, or a Battleship with lower skills.
Level 4 missions are for advanced play, after a few months. I would only do them in a Heavy Assault Cruiser or Battleship, with good skills and tactics. (Or friends)
Something else you can do which may be of interest is go to a system where peoplr are running level 4 missions, once you get a cruiser (Caracal works well for this) and offer to kill the cruisers and frigates that spawn during those missions.
I would always invite players to tag along while I was doing missions, as it would make things go a lot faster (more Loyalty Points for the time I was playing)
Mining is a possibility, but you have to deal with ore thieves, and if you go to lower security space where the better ore is, you're going to die repeatedly and not get anywhere.
Also, you can join a corporation or an alliance, and work in gangs or groups- you'll make isk faster and it will be safer.
Hope this helps.

Okay well I have a Caldarian Battlecruiser a Ferox. How do I fair at that. It has over 6000hp for the shield and I have 4 fast assault launchers, a heavy launcher, a medium artillery cannon, and a medium auto cannon. Any suggestions on improving it.

Umm...Dude you could start by reading the rest of the thread man. I started this thread so if your not going to be of some help in line with what asked to begin with then don't bother replying. That is actually kind of rude. Since this does happen to be a general discussion, it really doesn't matter. But you really should read the entire post before you give you 2 cents worth. I am in the right thread because I started the thread and I was merely getting more input from the helpful folks that had already replied.

He ment for the ferox set up.
Just FYI i set up my ferox for
5 Heavy's 2 med nos
Med shield boost 2 Shield Amplifier 2 X Passive shield hardeners
2 Ballistics control units 2 Warp stabs
That leaves you 1 med to play with. I generally stick an Afterburner or a webber there.
Ferox is useful for 0.0 ratting, but u really need to be careful about getting ganked by players there. My advice would be to join a corp and hold corp ops. It'll prolly net u more isk overall then any other suggestion

Yeah I understand that he was reffering to that, but I was inline with previous posts. Thanks for the info on the setup. I never really thought about putting 5 heavys on it. I guess cause I have 2 large shield extenders(I think extenders so many shield things), which is why my shields are so high. I also have an invul shield hardner. I probably should go for more tech II stuff, but I am working on a other types of skills right now so it makes that difficult.
As far as those how like to put scam stuff here, feel free if that is your opinion, but just know that you are wasting your time. I am not interested in scaming people or being scamed, that just isn't right.

Scam. Learn how to scam in escrow, and courier missions. Create price bubbles in market and use the information asymmetrics for your advantage. Buy cheap, buy everything out of the markets (of certain items. I'm not going to tell you everything.) and sell for outrageously high profits.
Steal. Stealing from miners is good money, better than some L3 missions when you find good targets and learn how to do it very well. It's also a good honest profession.

unlike general belief 0.1 is safer than 0.4. There are less pirates than in 0.4 or 0.0 chokepoints, and actually you can dock in a station most of time without risking your ship destruction (which is not true for 0.0 npc stations). So for a new player without alliance, 0.1 space is the best choice imo.

Interesting concepts. I have finally gotten a high quality lvl 2 agent and that gives some good income. As I said before I am not a scammer and I will not steal from other players, and it is not a very honest profession either. But of corse I guess someone has to play the bad guys in cops and robbers . I would rather be the cops though. I like killing pirates so 0.4 sounds kind of nice. I think for now though I will stick to missions.

my advice? don't scam. scammers are lazy and pathetic and do nothing but frustrate other players. they think they are genious, but in reality they are just exploiting the weaknesses of others.
it's like patting the guy on the back that breaks into your house and steals everything because he was "smart" enough to find a part of your daily routine that had you out of the house for long enough to rob you.
follow the advice of the others in the thread and find an honest living. you'll feel better about yourself for having earned what you got and you'll also promote the well being of the other players in the universe that may ultimately fly on your wing.
i don't care what anyone says. scammers and theives are like mosquitos. you can't just ever squash them all out of existance, and they MAY play a tiny role in the circle of life...but most can agree the world would be a better place without them.

My advice that got me started fairly quick is to collect loot in 0.0 in the belts many players just pop the rat for sec bonuses and leave the can, it's yours for the take. One fast fitted ship and some stabs and expanders combined with instas you be set for along time ahead.
My average income was about 10 - 30 mill per like 5 hours. And the longer you do it the better you get at it.

And why would I sell time cards for ISK. First I would have to buy the time cards. I would rather just buy the ISK, which is easy enough to do.
