been getting my tempy skills well up there lately--have had t2 1400's for quite a while now and really working on making the long range setup work. my question is what kind of dps should i expect on the average bs?.. say i'm using 2 sensor boosters, 3 tracking comps, and 3 gyros, tech 2 long range ammo, and me and my target are stationary and optimal range??? really wondering what i should be expecting per shot, with medium to good skills in all related to the guns?.. and then what could i expect for a wrecking shot (have had wreckers above a thousand on rats, since rmr). thanks in advance for your help!

Edited by: Sarmaul on 28/03/2006 20:01:28 approximatly: 350dps @ optimal range with tremor and maxed skills, 3700 alpha strike with same conditions, 11100 alpha strike with 6 wrecking shots and same conditions, divide the last 2 values by 6 for damage per gun

there will always be those who slag the tempy, but with the damage they deal out, coupled with tacklers and the 3 seconds it takes me to lock on you with that setup, i don't care what you're flying it's all over really quick. yeah, there can be the "what if" scenario but most will not stick around in that situation and tempt fate, no matter what they're in, if they can get away.
great fleet damage dealer. not an all arounder, but eve's all about specialization anyway--by design. innit?

DPS calculations don't seem to be very useful for artillery. A 1400 tempest has crappy dps on paper. But at the right range and against the right ships you will get above average hits much more often than the math says you should. And when that happens, your dps goes through the roof.
