hey. Im new to Eve and enjoy playing it with my 6600GT graphics card so heres my question:
I remember customizing my character's appearence making him look sinister and just before the last step the game which has you choose a "Profession" and I picked Manager and thier for im stuck with that i guess and was wondering if i can somehow switch professions with out having to start a new character. also the character professions has "Custom" and how would that effect my character if i would of picked that?

The "career" you chose doesn't really mean much.
You can train Skills to do anything in the game - the career templates will just give you a few certain skills as a headstart, and divvy up some Attribute points.
As long as your Attribute points aren't super-whacky, you'll be fine.
I think this is the question of the week. _______ Can't find what you need? EVE Search |

The 'career' the pick at the start isnt really your career meerly the skills you start with, intended to give you a boost to start on the right road. In Eve you can train any skill of any type from any race without any form of penalty so you cant really go TOO wrong in character creation as far as the 'career' goes.
In general (well most cases) choosing 'custom' is best, simply so you can pick more accurately what you want for you.
That being said, if the skills you have dont match what you want, and you've only just started, and dont mind rerolling, by all means do and have fun messing about with setups till you find 'you' in there.

You're talking about "re-rolling". Can you keep the same name and avatar, and go back and change your starting setup, or do you have to start all over from nothing?

You would have to restart from nothing, in eve you will always make a wrong decision at some point (be it at character creation, or flying your new battleship into low sec).
Its not possiable to "gimp" a starting set of stats, it just means you'll be slower at learning a certain type of skills, but faster at another kind.

If you delete your character then you can use the same name again, but will have to remake the avatar.

Plus it takes about 10 hours to delete, giving you some rethink time.

To 'reroll' just means to make a new character from scratch, refers back to the ye'olde days when making characters was done with dice.
You can transfer money between characters without help by just right clicking their name and 'give money'. As for items, if your on the trial that would involve a nice person holding stuff for you unless you can duel log characters.

Re-rolling is an ancient D&D term that means restarting a character. In pen and paper D&D (and computer versions that are faithful to the rules) you have to roll dice (usually several D6 [six sided dice]) to determine attributes. -- Originally by: Drayce Between the learning skills and the tutorial, Eve is like a firewall against the attention deficit kids.

It has nothing to do with being an Eve noob. Rerolling comes from pen and paper games where one would roll dice to determine starting attributes. If you didn't like what you had, you would then reroll the dice to try for better stats. ----------------------------------------------- "Eve is a sandbox.
