Edited by: Snake Jankins on 28/03/2006 23:46:02 This is no whine, but just a warning for t2 precision missile user to avoid the 'wtf-experience' I just had. (edit: and maybe a question, about if this is working as intended. )
So what happened ? I was in a fleet battle with my Raven firing with t2 precision cruise missiles at some enemies. Everyone in our gang was full-speed aligned to warp out in-case he becomes primary target and takes to much damage.
Ok, the moment came that I became primary target. I had full shields, but only 20% armor left from a previous fight. So as soon as I took heavy damage, I tried to warp out. But it didn't work. So I look at my 'speedometer' and see, that my raven is only at 1/3 of full-speed and accelerating. Then I notice the blinking cruise missile launchers and a second later I was in a pod.
So what happened ? Just before I tried to warp out, the cruise launchers got empty and reloaded automatically. During the reload time of 10 seconds there are no precision cruise in the launcher, so the raven had no speed malus due to them. As result my raven had to accelerate from about 40m/s over 100 m/s, before I could warp out, which wasn't possible in such a short time.
So forget full-speed alignment during the reload phase with t2 precision cruise. *edit* sorry for the English. I'm working on it. ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |

I suppose you could avoid this by turning off autoreload and just reloading manually. The chances of you getting shot at in the 10 seconds of reloading are pretty slim I guess.
And you could use it to your advantage by loading precision missiles when you want to get to warp faster .

Actually as the launchers become empty the penalty is gone so auto reload on or off doesnt matter. However if your missiles are loaded at the moment as you are at 2/4 speed or something you can warp.(so auto reload is good fireing the last missiles isnt) In addition. If your timeing is good you can warp instantly even if you just arrived somewhere.

Yes, I've already tried to use them this way before hehe, but reloading takes 10 seconds, which makes it a bit difficult. So it needs 10 seconds, before you see the effect. But t2 cruise launchers on a freighter would be cool.
Was anyway my everything-goes-wrong-day. After I lost that ship, I jumped into a t2-fited tempest, did a few double clicks in combat by mistake in the overview which let half a dozen info windows apear and my ship died a horrible death in a <1 fps dia show after that. But at least I get a new tempest from my corp. They feel with me. Yey ! ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |

Edited by: Hakera on 29/03/2006 08:07:54 its not completely unsurprising but irrelevent to the precision misisle balance, using T2 ammo, i have had several times now where the t2 ammo penalty has not disappeared when i reloaded back to t1 ammo, specifically, this is using quake, alongside an ab. Despite having t1 ammo now loaded, my velocity was still affected by the t2 penalty. Sadly I cannot verify or reproduce this 'feature' when I want :/

Then you should "sneak" around and "feed" to reduce your "burning" effect you get. Althou you will lose your phat "effects" and some "skills".

you could simply stagger your launchers when you fire ... that way only one or two will be reloading and you will always have the penalty applied ... just a thought ... ------------- The purpose of life: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, hear the lamentation of their women. |
