Hey, friend just sent me this link. Its a video for a game supposedly coming out some time this year Linkage
Looks like one of the best games to come out in a long time that isn't Eve 
Oh, and for those that wonder what its about, its a game of evolution. You start as a small cell like organism, then work your way up the evolutionary chain, changing your appearance how you look, and eventually getting to a Sentient state where you are able to rule over Tribes, over cities, or even planets. Some really nice looking stuff in there.

And since I wasn't at E3 last year like I had actually wanted to be, I never saw it.

I'm really looking forward to this game, but I can't fail to presume that EA will completely ruin it. There's so much potential to it, but EA will rush it out the door so fast that I expect that most of what was shown in the video will be left out. If anyone has read Lord British's account of what happened with Utlima IX they'll know what I'm talking about.
No matter who's working on it, you can't escape the fact that EA is producing it, and all that matters to them is getting the game out with the least amount of expense, no matter what they have to cut from it.
And after what has happened with The Godfather, what was it a quarter of a billion in losses from stocks plummeting? I can only expect that they'll work even harder to get games out on time no matter how much the game has to suffer.
So while Spore has so much to offer, and so much potential, EA will screw it up in their delusional quest for the allmiighty dollar wherein quantity far outweighs quality.

That would be terrible. Some [insert naughty word] would come over to your planet within 5 minutes of you starting and vaporise it. I'm looking forward to it, lets hope Mr Wright can hold back the corporate machine of EA.

Not to mention... this game doesn't have a single shread of originality. Everything came from something else. Hell, The Sims was a major insperation for this game... if that doesn't sound like a bad thing then I don't know what does!
EA"MMO" = SOE < total crap < decent game < CCP and EVE

The Sims wasn't that bad. I admit, they had problems with the series that turned me away from it, but I've always liked city building games. That, and Civ and Risk are amongst my highest favoured games... Oh, and since it was Will Wright that designed most of the games that the ideas for Spore was obtained from, then that just means the good stuff will be put in, rather than the bad.

Game looks neat but Will says procedural way too much in that video. After the 20th time I shut it off.

that might be because this game is one of the first "new" (like after 1990) games to use it so much.
+ The first part of the video is talking ABOUT using procedural algorithms in game programming to create a lot of content without using much code.
I look forward to it and i hope its as good as they say it is.
I've had plenty of bad experiences with games i looked forward to much to tho
