Just a thought in reference to the age old dilema of log off tactics.
In a system where a POS is deployed and given sovrenty of the system to an allaince there should be no warp off/dissapear allowed after logging PERIOD.
If you corp ownz the POS then you simple move your ships inside the bubble before loggin off, and they sit there for all to see, but protected by the POS shield from attack.
However anyone else in the system will have to log off at a moon or safe spot but will remain there in space until they log in again, able to be scan probed and attacked.
Thus anyone who enters a POS controlled system who is an enemy will be vunverable to attack after they log off unless they leave the system before logging.
It dosent eliminate log off tactics but it does suppress them in POS systems so allaince cant use lame meta-gaming tactics to take down POS's just after DT or hit an allaince for quick kills before logging again in thier home system.
Although you could make this true (no log off warp or dissapear)in all 0.0 systems it could make things a bit harsh, but then again it is 0.0 and the risks should be right up there with the rewards.

I disagree simply by virtue of the fact that some things can happen in real life (like work, sleep and study) that requires you to log off where you are.
to be penalised for that is silly really.

no it just means you cant be lazy about how you operate. if you factor in you need time to get to a safe area then its not an issue. simply saying that you need the convience is not a good enough reason for it not to happen. besides if its only in POS system just go to one next door without a POS and log off take you all of 5 mins !

if you want to cover vs that then keep warp off after log but let the ship remain visible in space permantly
node crash your ships gets out of immediate danger but its not a get out of jail free card

Edited by: Rod Blaine on 29/03/2006 09:08:06 I'd settle for a permanent pvp-timer for those that log in sovereign systems.
And that would need to include NPC sovereign systems btw, those especially actually.
That way you still have a decetn chance of getting away with the rl-emergeny log in a deepspace safe, yet a whoel gang logging off with enemies in teh same system will be sorted fast enough.
edit: I know i know, you lose connection adn cant get back in, lose your ship and are screwed.
Though luck.

i suggest it as a pos module in the eve magazine compo.
anyway, if you are not ready to take the risk and venture into enemy sovereignty systems you should maybe just turn around. with a system like this most people are forced to take the remote systems first instead of going directly to the core to gank people, it will make a lot more tactical sense then current system where you go directly to the core to gank, ignoring the outer rim..
